can someone who is fairly competent at mixing knock up a King of Snake vs Donna Summer I feel Love megamix...

just wondered why no-one has attempted this because i think this is a goer, if not obvious, but it so will work that its crying out to be done...

just don't tell the lawyers...

(i'm no mixer so i'll leave it to the experts)

maybe if we get a few we could post a poll and get everyone to decide on teh best one... a sort of Dirty Comp

there are, after all, several versions of KOS & IFL, so do with it what you will...

(the only official remix that included more than just the baseline of IFL, if i recall was, the Ashley Beedle mix of KOS, which had a slightly different take on the DS sample)

its such an obvious mix up though, especially as D Summer and G Moroder are credited as writers on the KOS single ...

Yeah, i'm also surprised that the tunes don't get mashed up more often!

i'm embarrassed that i don't have the original "I Feel Love", but i'd like to try mixing KoS with the I Feel love remix by Plump DJs, which is a nice break-y mix.

been listening to KOS all day on an 80 minutes CD

just to see which versions sit best and have stripped out vocals of KH, and well the original runs at the same beat as IFL obviously, but some of the remixes don't us the Moroder IFL beats, so may not mash as well...

i think the best mix for this may be 'Beedles Save our Disco's mix', which is most DS influenced, but one should not ignore any of the other remixes for snippets of KH vocals and / or the crazy 'snake fighting very dangerous' samples...

whoever mixes it up shoul dtake a listen to all of the commercial mixes of KOS, Barking, Straight Mate Mix, Bungalow Mix

mixes to avoid are the Dave Angel Re-work, Slam, Coccoluto abd Dino Lenny mixes as these are not really suited to the mash up in this case, imo...

anyway, as i'm not a great mixer nor have the equiptment, i'm leaving it open to you lot, but i'll take exceutive producer credits...

not sure which would work best, mainly the DS IFL original with KH samples over the top or KOS with DS snippets interwoven or a complete megamix mash up of both...

personally i'd like to hear the instrumentation of DS's IFL with KOS samples over the top...

but a sample of 'i feeeeeeel..snake' might work

but i'll wait to see what you trusty remixers come up with....

ive been having a go, but a month or so off for exams means i suck at the moment. i also only have one version of each, and they arent clicking at the moment.

also my cd-turntable sucks major ass, and thats the only format that ive got KOS on

the main problem is the PC mix of IFL is NOT on a rigid tempo, meaning the bpm's waiver significantly. most disco and for that matter, early electronic music from the early/mid-eighties has waivering bpm's. also, we need an acapella or isolated vocal sample from KoS.

not as easy as it sounds. probably why it's not been done before.

I'm almost positive, yes...

unfortunately, I think I've lost all of them.

(checks)
yea - unless it's on some random cd-r, I now only have one of them left on my external HD, and it's not the one w/ the donna summer track

although - I don't think that one was like a total 'mash up' of the two songs, like only bits of "I feel love" was in it

This is only idea, I find Plump Djs mix of IFL not easy to mix with KOS samples. So i think that it would be better to mix KOS with
Donna Summer - IFL (Rollo and Sister Bliss Monster Mix)
(its the mix from Faithless new Renaissance 3D CD)

It think it should work. All we need its good vocal samples of KOS.
What do you think of this?

That's a way. I think the Timo Maas remix of IFL might work out better than Plump DJs if you went that route... too many extra beats in the latter and the former has some extended parts that are just the synthbass line, which could be cool layered with the UW version.
As for the KoS vocal samples, do you mean Karl singing or the Japanese guy? i think the Fatboy Slim remix breaks out the spoken word pretty well at the beginning.

Soooo.......

Who's holding their hand up to actually mix this then? :D

And yeah, I think it would sound better with Karl vocals rather than the "snake...fighting...", although both could be incorporated. If I had the skillz and the software I'd take a bash at it meself! :)

I will step to decks and test my skill on mixing these two tracks for test purposes. If the mix will be good I will let you know;)
I just like these two tracks, so why not to test that.

But Im sure there are better djs to do that in this time:)
