Rob Da Bank played a new mix of Two Months Off on last Sunday's Blue Room. You can hear it on the listen again feature (hurry, there's only a few hours left!) It's about 20 minutes into the show.

I recorded it. Currently editing, will upload it in a few minutes :) .

Though the quality from the stream wasn't great.

They're up.

I put em on Rapidshare because I'm not sure wether my personal
webspace would survive all the downloads.

Nice one Icke - thanks.

Not sure how much I like this yet though. Listening for the first time here.

Thanks, Icke! Nice trim, too!

Hmm, well, it's not too bad, although maybe too many things happening at once, and at a different key than the "You bring light in!" lyric is in. Early on, there are some bleeps very reminiscent of "Dark and Long". From 2-3 minutes in, though, it sounds very close to the LP version, just with a blub beat on top ( in fact, 2:30 -2:57 is virtually exactly the LP version) ..where's the remixing?;)

Still, thanks for sharing, and at least it wasn't remixed in the happy hardcore style!:p

Yeah I wasn't all that impresed either, but I feel it's my duty to share the track. I think Rob said the guy has a myspace page, I might check it out.

Not the worst remix ever!

The only Underworld remixes that I think work are those that take the track in a completely different direction. I like the Push Upstairs techno remixes, Cups, and of course all of Underworld's own remixes because they're basically new songs in themselves. I don't really see the point in just reshaping the original as there's no way that you'll be able to improve it. But maybe that's just the Underworld snob in me talking :D

Yeah, that's true. Who wants a club remix with just some extra 4-4 beats, when the originals rock out just fine on the dancefloor? I often wonder if all these exclusive remixes, even those on authentic UW releases, ever really get played.

i also agree with the bit about taking a track in a totally different direction. I dig "Bruce Lee-Micronauts Mix", "DA3D-Chicken Lips" and "Jumbo - Jedi Sugar Hit" for that reason. I think one of the Darren Price remixes of Born Slippy was also kinda unique. Most of the remixes for King of Snake, Two Months Off and Push weren't all that evolved from the tracks main elements.

The Futureshock mix of Jumbo is lush imo. The infamous Punk Rock edit of Jumbo is awesome to. Did anyone ever find a copy of it?

I think it's this one http://kwiebusch.blogspot.com/2006/02/jumbo-white-label-remix.html
But since I never did hear the original one that was broadcasted waaayback, I'm not sure.
