wow - thanks sooo much
I was out of town when the broadcast hit
this is great... but there's not that usual QT tap-thing on the far right end of the track
does that mean it's not possible to save? or do I just have to wait for the full file to load

Open the scream and let it fully download.
XP Users:
Goto C:\Documents and Settings\<user logged in>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files and look for 060513_96k.mp3.
Copy wherever and you're done.
You can't do a search for the file name because Windows doesn't search temp internet files.

but I still can't download it (on a mac). there's not that usual tab where you can 'save as source' 'save as quicktime movie' etc etc etc
or - is it b/c I'm on a computer now without QT pro?

or - is it b/c I'm on a computer now without QT pro?Its because the uwlive.com site has removed the "save as" QT menu button I think, or because its mp3 not mov. Anyway, looking at the source code for the page gives the URL that Victor has provided above. The file is 128mb and is 186mins at 96kbs stereo mp3.

anywho, rather than messing around with temp files, if you have firefox as your browser (and if not, slap on the wrist), just download this nifty plug-in (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/) which puts a little icon on firefox's status bar, and allows you to download embedded media files from basically every webpage you can think of

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! How do you convert the audio so it goes on to iTunes? Normally i'd burn it off and do it that way but it aint gonna work with a three hour file!

What? It's an MP3 file. Just drag it into iTunes. For such a long "song", in iTunes, I like to go to the "Get Info" and under the "Options" tab, check the box that says "Remember playback position." Then it'll pick up playing where you left off last.
If you want to split the MP3 into different sections, you'll need some kind of MP3 splitter. On my Mac, I use MP3 Trimmer (http://www.deepniner.net/mp3trimmer/)

There's an easier way if you use Firefox -- no messing with the cache: go to the "listen again" page, rightclick, and select "view page info". Go to the tab "media" (4th tab). There's two URLs: one for the mp3, one for the JPEG. Select the mp3 URL, and click on the button "Save As...". Just let the download complete.

whats with the shitty attitude in this thread? someone asked a question and if you want to answer it, answer it. if you don't, then cut the sarcasm and quit acting like it was staring us right in the face.
for the record, the search feature on these vbulletin boards sucks ass. i wouldn't rely on them.

Yup! Thread title issues aside, ;) it doesn't take two seconds to post a link. Not everyone reads all the threads all the time, or visits the boards daily, so yeah.
On the other hand, one can quickly scan a thread to see if it is what one is looking for. So yeah, also.
I think what I am trying to say very diplomatically is that there is evidently no need to get snitty with people, but there is also no need to assume that other people will always do the "work" for you. A bit of give and take on all sides goes a long way. :)

but my point still remains, the excuse of a badly named thread is fine in this case, but honestly how long does it take to scan three threads? my guess is most people read all of the threads in the underworld section of this forum

Sorry, guys! Didn't mean to cause a fuss. I just find that asking questions here gets a tad... dangerous. :)
I did read this entire thread and the announcement thread beforehand and there was no mention so I asked the question. Search sucks because it limits characters so one can't even search for cue, tap, cat, pop, or poo. I do not read every thread in the underworld forum, only those that look interesting. Searching for sheet now I see that thread comes up but I'm still not sure I'd have looked at it.
Anyway, my apologies again. I'll make even more of a more of an effort to find things on my own in the future.
Cheers and thanks!

05-20-2006, 10:20 PM
quite your complaining, renaming threads imo is just making it easier and better so there aren't more double posts.
but i am dubious about the mergin with really old threads... i don't know if it's good or not, but renaming is good. i think it's silly cause every few days or wahtever i forget what "man oh man is this albumn good:" threads

Is it really a double post if the first post was from 10 pages back? Is that really helping? Lets put all the "I like underworld" threads all together in one thread, 50 pages long.
I just think the moderators should only moderate when they need to, you know.. perhaps to curb the threat of curse words and dipshits. Don't we have artistic expression?

05-21-2006, 02:05 AM
I personally have no desire to see 12 threads that are somewhat the same. I would prefer it to be all in one, and I know many others would too. Any forum I've been a poster at, moderated, or been an admin at has done this same practice to keep flow of the forum easy. And really it's not like your posts or content is gone. It's still there for everyone to see. It's really not something you should stress over.
