i am so surprised that more people aren't going crazy for 'you do scribble' it seems like the best of their new bunch:::

maybe they have some sort of sonic wmd up their sleeve...

maybe they want to see how this whole d/l thing plays-out, or plays-on as it were;

this is a little OT, but shouldn't they give us info on how often and the release schedule of these projects... in the end we will be happier with MORE info that mgmt, etc... gives us.

i think they are saving, scribble... they didn't want to gamble with it for the first release... maybe not for ther next one either... could be for a physical album, right?

i think releasing this track for free would be possibly the most kind gesture they could EVER give us :)

well i can dream can't i?

the track is too good for an internet only thingy?

therefore they are going to wait for a long lasting physical album...

In the interview with Tong some weeks ago, Karl spoke about the 180 or so tracks they had ready to release onto the web, but that while he himself liked to walk into recordstores and search for music to much, there would be a real cd release too.

As Lloyd said, according to Karl there will still be a (physical) album coming.

Another interview with Karl said there wouldn't be another proper UW album until after the soundtrack, and the other side projects going on with Gabriel Yared, Sven Vath, and others. Definitely wouldn't count on a UW "album" until late 2007 at the earliest...I would imagine most of what they are playing live now will either be released in the RRP, or become live only staples.

IMHO, of course...

This song better be released! It's by and large my favorite of the 'new' stuff, although I'm surprised at how quality a lot of it is (Jal to Tokyo, Back in the Fears, Peggy Sussed, Foodaready), this is the only time when I thought, "man, this could be the new Two Months Off, or Jumbo, or whatever..."

And what's with no new album until late 2007...at best!? Does this mean likely 2008? Meaning that they'll have 6 years between their albums? And people thought the Orb fell off the map when it took Cydonia four years to be released!

There's still no reliable date for the release of the movie, so who knows when the soundtrack will come out.

Just a question... Where might one get a small taste of this track in a legal manner? :)

The only 100% legal way right now? Buy a second-hand copy of the Tokyo Electraglide show CD.

Just a question... Where might one get a small taste of this track in a legal manner? :)Theyve played You Do Scribble at all 20 gigs performed in 2005.

But you might also find a rough copy here (http://www.dirty.org/forums/showpost.php?p=17198&postcount=9)

The only 100% legal way right now? Buy a second-hand copy of the Tokyo Electraglide show CD. Well, I might have to cut down on that percentage, then ;)

Theyve played You Do Scribble at all 20 gigs performed in 2005 There we go! Only about 80% legal, wouldn't you say? ;)

I know this makes me a weirdo in this group, but I'm not a big fan of live performances, so I haven't been paying attention.
*ducks rotten tom... cucumbers*

But I'll see what I can find. Thanks :)

PS: Apologies for almost insulting our holiest of vegetables by implying that a state of rotten is even possible for it ;)

A quick search on this forum located a link to a recording of this track. So I'm happy!

Note to self: Search forum first ;)

I sometimes wonder if UW cries when making music because sometimes its so beautiful. I squeezed one out this morning as I heard do you scribble for the first time off the Japan CD.

EXCELLENT! A studio version needs to be on the next album and/or online release.

Make it happen boys!

I know what you mean/feel...i think the RiverRun project and new live tunes are very emotional compared with the stuff on AHDO. When i listen to "Lovely Broken Thing" straight through, i feel a sort of nervous awe. "Pizza For Eggs" makes me melancholy, in a good way!
