ha, i like the comments in the code..

(what can i say, i was a programmer/)..

The Long awaited Tomato website.

Hope all you code readers/hackers like it? yes theres some pritty odd stuff going on under the hood
to do with file locations- and the database (nothing to amasing. The layers of the navigation are built
within a Java Bean (it was easyer that way tbh) its just a recrsive loop over the database making div's.

I have left all the Javasctipt exposed if anyone wants to have a look at it- guess theres better ways
to do some of this stuff :P. And im bad i know- mixing styles, hahaha. i may update the code while i
play about with AJAX- but then maybe make somthing else thats cooler :)

well have fun- hope you like it

nice to see it... to see it, nice! :p

I'm sure there is more content than before, too... pics of that mental watch and that skateboard. Etc.

Hadn't seen that JAL to Tokyo art, either... harkens back to Dubno, no?

nice one, mate!

i particulary like how the navigation slowly disappears :)

ps: change the tomcat-favicon... ;)

adam
04-08-2006, 04:51 PM
Hmmm...some of the navigation doesn't seem to be working in Safari...you may want to take a look at that.

Like, I gather from the above post there are some effects within the navigation, but for me, it was appearing as abruptly as the image. Clicked on Motion, got the submenu, clicked on Leftfield, and what looked like they might be four further nav buttons appeared on the right, but they were all blank.

Beautiful... just beautiful. So many things I've never seen & so nice to see again Push Upstairs' video...

nb: works perfectly on a mac with firefox...

aNt

adam- the nav does its thing when u move the mouse away from it. not when
it changes levels. vashishes so i can show big images. i tested it on safari and
it all worked sweet here. what version of da safari are u running (we have
Tiger running the lastest updated system mumble, maybe apple fixed somthing).

i take it that that board has already been auctioned off...???

how come we were'nt toldof the auction...all we had was a heads up on the board being in existence....

King of Snake

nice to have something up again.

can you maybe change the typography so that a person can actually read it though?
And the nav buttons for the pics and movies are eventually gonna have maybe some info with them so you know what it is, yes? ;)

typography dude- well thats design mate, cant be messing with cool design
now can we? if it was all black and white you'd complain it was to normal.

buttons with info text OMG! surely not- nice to have somthing new in
your life, the web is to simple these days (click here, click there).. next u
will want all the links underlined and in blue!!! haahahahhaa.

told about stuff- yah i agree compleatly. so i made the tomato website :)
i can update you all on new cool stuff, without having to post post post when
i have a few seconds on me hands...

as far as the JAL artwork...i thought the same thing too..
but kind of reversed, as there seems to be a lot more
white on black than black on white.. wasnt the artwork
available for download before?

i'll take readability over design any time, especially with websites, but i guess that's just me. ;)

I go to a website to look for info or content, anything that detracts me from reaching that info or content in the fastest and easiest way possible (ie, unrecognisable/unlabeled buttons) is just sloppy design if you ask me.
but hey, it's your site so you can do whatever you like ;)

anyway, some really nice stuff on the site. Me likes Jal to Tokyo artwork.

i'll pop your request into the tomato mix... hope i dont get killed :) worth a

thats about to supernova a local sun'... but then thats just me :)...

i hope so because i'd like one, and a watch too, but that was expensive i think yeah...?

how about some nice stuff that we Brits and US folk can actually buy rather than the Japs...is this your department?

after all exclusives for Japan seem to be a little hard to come by... (WISP, Tomato G-Shocks, Nokia Stuff, Onyx Pearls, Etc...)

anyway nice work on the Trainers and Leftfield cover...at least we have something, and the site looks kool

hehe, yeah my own site gets updated even less than the tomato one But then i don't make as much cool stuff as you do (and the stuff i do now can be seen at www.moses.nl (http://www.moses.nl))

of course you should take all my comments about the site with a heavy dose of ;) ;)

I quite like the design! It's very original, nowadays most web designers jump on the CSS design bandwagon (check out sites like www.cssimport.com, you'll know what I mean) but I'm glad there are still a few who have their own style! :)

with regards the JAL artwork, has no one taken a closer look at it...its the cover for a 12" (or maybe CD single), if you look closely it says

a. JAL to Tokyo - Paul Woolford (Vocal?)Mix
b. Play Pig - Wighomny & Rhobag Wruhme (Something?) Mix

(which is odd because i was under the impression Pig and Dan were doing the play pig mixes, and Rhobag was on Vanilla Monkey, but that job may have gone to Martinez - will have to wait and see the final product)

the flip to the tracklisting side appears to have lyrics on it...

not sure about the white cover, all i can make out is 'paul woolford vocal mix' - this may be the CD single cover
