Hmmmmmmmm, just got played on Radio 1, sounds nothing like anything on 100th Window. Its different to say the least, though i need another listen before i can form a definate opinion on it!

hey! I actually liked 100th Window...
the track sounds a bit like the Danny the Dog tracks... so it kinda stradles a few different 'vibes' at once. Like you get the strings from like Protection, Mezz's bass, and so forth
but it also kinda makes you wonder if this is a legitimate new track, or another one that they just dusted off, and (maybe) did some added work on it. I just say that b/c it was mentioned that this was the case for Danny the Dog and Bullet Boy.
I would suggest to anyone who doesn't like 100th Window to listen to it again, listening only to the five tracks with 3-D's vocals. I love every one of those tracks. The production/sound design/arrangements on them are breathtaking.
But I'm totally put off by the Sinead tracks, and indifferent to the Horace Andy ones. Listening to them all dilutes the whole thing and makes it rather bland...try just the 3-D tracks...yum.
Danny the Dog, however, is teh suk.

the only stinker for me on 100th Window is "Prayer for England"
but that has nothing to do with the new track... which is actually quite good

the strings sound a little too craig armstrong-ish though.

Holy shit, that is awesome. Much more soul-influenced than, say, Mezzanine, but it's got Mezzanine's dark vibe without the dissonance. Man, thanks for posting that. Now I'm looking forward to their new album.

well - you might have a while to wait... it's looking to be at least a year for the new album. But the new 'cash in' (3D's own words) "Collected" will have two new tracks, and a disc filled with a good number of unreleased tracks

The version of black milk that they use live (i forget the name now) is going to be on the bside disc. Id buy it *just* for that.
The track is pretty good, not really standing out yet. Drums are really neat, I like the voice of the singer but the violins have yet to grab me. The song could have been a bit longer though.

Very bluesy...lots of soul...not sure yet if it's a standout in their rich catalogue :o

Any idea if they're going to work with Dot Allison for vocals? That'd be a dream setup for me.
I heard they were interested in working with ODB. :(

That would've been an interesting collab.
A shame that it's not possible though.

apparently - yes
but whether the songs will get released or not (on the next album) who knows
but check out dot's site, it's got an unreleased Massive Attack track on it. It's called 'Aftersun' and was supposed to be on the Danny the Dog soundtrack
(not sure if it's the same track called 'aftersun' that was on the original album that was to follow Mezz)

Heh, ouch. Moby never had this kind of moody feel, though. Especially not nowadays.

liked it a lot on the first listen...have media player on repeat and I've noticed the song seems pretty short. It's growing on me...I like the entry a lot.

Yeah, I agree. I really hope that the new album, whenever it comes out, will be more in this soul-influenced style.

Thanks for posting that. It was great. Really struck a chord with me. W/ the video in the context of the song, I was there about 4 months ago.

Yeah, I like how the video concentrates on the woman to whom the song is addressed rather than the singer.

Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't know there was a new track out there so it's good to see there's still something happening with Massive Attack. That's a fantastic track and it looks like more fun to come too. Exciting!
Hey it's just been released now and has been put on the front page of this downloads site if anyone was after it.....

A nice collection here. All their major hits and the limited edition gives some great non-album stuff. Nice to see that it's not just a re-release of previously available b-side material. A real treat for their fans.
Their music really fits this time of year here in London...great timing on the release.

This song connected with me today in a big way. False Flags is killer too.

I post this now because tickets go on sale next week and, having never been to the Hollywood Bowl before (I know, I know), it might be nice to try and get in the same areas as other dirts if that's at all possible.
