Rumour has it that they are gonna be doing (at least) 100 shows...*eek*

all set between Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV...

so whadda you reckon...is it gonna be any good??

Personally, i reckon it will get panned critically regardless, but Lucas won't care, and neither will most fans. Either way he's not gonna make Ewoks II or the Holiday Special type mistakes, i think he learnt his lessons on that front.

As far as i understand he and his team are going to make these fairly big budget with proper movie type CGI, so providing the plots are good, it'll be sweet...and providing Lucas doesn't write the dialogue...because he can't direct real 'people'.

What i'd rather see is a basic story arc running through the whole series - which takes the viewer logically from the events of episode III to the start of episode IV, but with the main espidoe theme being one, two or three part shows on one or two characters at a time, such as Bail Organa fleeing the Clones and starting a new life with his wife and child (leia), and episodes on characters that we know little about...which is how i understand they are going to do it...

I really am looking forward to this when it finally arrives, and i really hope it does well, and works, its a big task, and from what we have seen in George's previous forrays into the 'expanded universe' its gotta be good, because nothing can be as bad as the Holiday Spesh.

This being his baby and his name resting on it i think it could work, after all some of the most popular characters in the entire six movies are subplot characters like Boba Fett, and the Hutts...so fans should lap it up.

anyway...any news i'll post it here...save going to the over excited Star Wars 'nerd' sites ;)

any views??

well it can't be much worse than Episode's I, II and III really...

oh hold on, yes it probably can. All depends on who's writing/directing though. I still think there's a lot of life left in the Star Wars universe if only the people responsible would be willing to take some risks with it and do something a bit different. Some of the star wars videogames (most notably the recent KOTOR games) have shown that you can do engaging storylines within the existing universe without all the sillyness of the new movies.

Well, I don't happen to think anything was all that wrong with Episodes I,II or III, but I am a super Star Wars fanboy, so pretty much Lucas can't mess anything up in my eyes.

Anyway, what they should do with this TV series is set it up like Babylon 5, which was probably the absolute best Sci-Fi TV series ever. Like, if they have a definate begining, that being the end of Episode III, and a definate end, that being Episode IV, and a definate number of shows, then can pull it off.

Too bad I don't have television. :(
