alright, so i'll be in london between march 8th and 15th, and so is our fellow marshall watson aka professor.

unfortunetaly i can't attend Professor's gig (http://www.dirty.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2565), because i arrive one day late on wednesday, but i think it would be cool to have another dirtymeet during that week, preferably on the weekend.

last time we met in a pub before going to fabric (well, some of us), so i think something similar would be fine. drinks + dance = best. :)

ideas, anyone?

PS: i'm also interested in any other concerts/gigs/whatsoever in london during that week, so if anyone can point me to some websites or something like that it would be nice.

no, but seriously, this is like two weeks before i break up for easter, so work is usually due in around then. if i do some forward planning im sure i could sort out getting some work done early. i vote trash @ the end (erol alkan residency) for a monday night, unfortunately you might have to dress like a bit of a twat to get in

OK. I'm putting this in headset because that's where most of my friends here at dirty hang out. So I'm going to be in London March 6-13th, and some of use were thinking that it would be a good idea to set up an "official" dirty meet. I'm thinking that it will be on that friday, the 10th. We haven't decided on a place yet...I'm kinda depending on a couple of you english peeps to figure out the right place. But I'll certainly post it here as soon as I know. I'll also be playing at The Old Blue Last on the 7th.

Hope to see you at either of those dates.

Meanwhile, Ive been checking places to go out on the 10th ANYWAY :) If Fabric doesnt work, then theres always Brixton or Shoreditch...

Hehe.

Also doing some research for getting our groove on after the drinks. Will put up some ideas on here soon. Decision by committee is always a long and laborious process. ;)

my preference is for The End with Chew The Fat. Friendly makes some ridiculously amazing breaks and what i've heard of Aquasky's new stuff is great too. Plus the second room with Seji from Bugz in the Attic and others provides aural releif and diversity.

The Asylum runs a close second. Don't know about the venue though.

Pah!

35 mins from Victoria. But yeah, there is nothing here when you get here!

I will hunt out a venue over the next few days. So far the concensus for dancing seems to be focussed on The End - Aquaski. Unless anyone has any major objections to that, I will be taking firm orders and getting tix at the end of the week. msn/rtsr/pm me please :)

Eikman
02-28-2006, 03:05 PM
what exactly is aquaski? i have a couple of tracks on moving shadow compilations, but i doubt that they are strictly drum and bass?

now something for the meet per se, preferably not too far away from the end (i.e. tube station in near distance). social was great, but to be honest i'd like to see something different.

Ok - Dirty Meet Pub

The Langley, Langley Street, Covent Garden

Plus points: central, easy to get to, Covent Garden nice for our overseas visitors
Minus points: apparently the bar staff are stroppy, but hey... if we get cheesed off there is plenty other places round there to choose from :D

So far I have the following for tix for The End:
Me
Eike
Shane
Biz
Dave
Mary
Matt

Anyone else, please confirm by tomorrow evening (UK time 8.00pm) so I can pre-order and cut out the queuing.

BeautifulBurnout

At last!

After much discussion, we have chosen a venue for the Dirty Meet on Friday night:

The Daily, New Oxford Street (http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/info_pubbar_5184.html)

8.00pm seems a good time to meet up - although the pub closes at 11.00 (allegedly ;) ) it is not far from The End and we could go to the AKA bar afterwards if we weren't ready for dancing just then. :p

As far as tickets for The End go, I have the following people:
Eike
Shane
Biz
Matt
Dave
Mary
(Me)

Any other takers, please pm/msn me Monday evening, 9.00pm latests, so I can pre-book to avoid queueing in the freezing rain. :D

Great evening, guys and gal. Just got home - bacon sarnies and a cup of tea 4tw!

Eike - we lost you too at the end when we had to leave. The site for Shane and Brian's accommodation is here. (http://www.st-christophers.co.uk/hostels/london_hostels/camden)
Good luck trying to find an address though, cos I can't

Hopefully see you tomorrow for the mini-meet in Brighton. :)

Eikman
03-11-2006, 11:04 AM
yeah you did lose me...sort of. got a text message at 2 am saying that everyone is gone, so i stayed another 20 minutes and walked to trafalgar square for the nightbus, which was actually quicker than taking the tube/national rail

the night was not as long as i thought it would be, some people were a bit ont he weak side once we entered the club (hehe just kidding) but at least i wasn't terribly hungover today, yet tired.

nice meeting up with you all - shane, brian, dave and mary, michiel and of course the people i already knew like matt and jane.
