Does anyone have a MIDI file of the rez lick? I would love to throw that into reason and mess around...

Yes, you can import MIDI into reason. I've done it.

You can also export out, which is helpful if you're trying to move into the realm of DAW's and VST's...

why not try and recreate it yourself? Shouldn't be too hard.

I think it actually might be hard to recreate it. It's played so fast on the original it's hard to hear all the notes. I know that it has a lot of notes you wouldn't hear unless it was slowed down.

Make sure you give me a copy!
Do you know what synthesizer made the melody?

There is a bootleg of Rez knocking about - not 100% sure which one it is, but I am sure it's the version that made it to Bootleg Babies - which starts with the melody v e r y v e r y s l o w l y. So I am sure you would be able to pick it up from that.

I did that a couple years ago. The Bootleg Babies version has the nice slow beginning so I figured it out on my geetar. Fun stuff, still very hard to play at normal speed, especially the weird timings.

Hehe yeah, plus you aren't hearing any delay on that intro - so all the notes are real notes.
It's worth comparing that to the studio version (timestretched and transposed, of course) - is it me, or are there little differences?
I have a half-finished transcription of this somewhere...
