FAV UW REMIX – OF UNDERWORLD – What is Your Favourite Remix of an Underworld Track, by someone other than Underworld?

Some people were pretty specific in stating that they didn’t like remixes, or Underworld remixing for that matter, but the most popular Remixes are as below:

Cups – Salt City Vertical Bacon Vocal Mix – 14.63%
Don’t Know – 17.07%
Jumbo – Futureshock World’s Apart Mix - 12.19%
JAL – Woolford Mix – 4.87%
Jumbo – Jedis Electro Shock - 4.87%
Jumbo – Jedis Sugar Hit Mix – 4.87%

All Mixes of Jumbo account for 21% of all votes

Interesting to see the JAL mixes getting appreciation already, as well….

FAV LIVE TRACK – What is your Favourite Live Track?

Several Live Tracks were voted for, but the ones listed below were the most common, interestingly that the most banging tracks are most popular:

Born Slippy – All Variants – 12.9%
Dark Train – 7.31%
Juanita – 7.31%
King Of Snake - 12.9%
Moaner – 12.9%
Rez & Rez / Cowgirl – 14.63%

The old favourites never seem to die and despite people liking the new tracks live, it would appear that the old numbers shouldn’t be left out of any set…

WHO Would you like to see Underworld to work with?

Obviously a wide selection of names were mentioned here, so without comment I’ll list them all:

U2 / AMON TOBIN / SHPONGLE / JON BRION / GENESIS / THE BOOKS / DAFT PUNK / MATTHEW JOHNSON / DAVE GAHAN / FSOL / PRIMAL SCREAM / OUT HUD / DARREN EMERSON!!! / NICK BRACEGRIDLE (CHICANE) / BRAIN ENO / DOT ALLISON / LIZ FRAZIER / NEW ORDER / PETE NAMLOOK / ELITE FORCE / KRAFTWERK / EFTEKLANG / DEPECEHE MODE / THE NECKS / DAMIEN RICE / JOHN RITTER / KING CREOSOTE / JOHN LENNON!!!! / BILLIE RAY MARTIN / BJORK / ROOSIN MURPHEY / MARK HOLLIS / ALEX P / JACK DANGERS / KEN ISHII / ANOTHER DARREN!!!! / DERRICK MAY / LEOS CARAX …

Well it’s a diverse list and some more probably likely than others, Brian Eno’s name came up several times, and it would be interesting to see UW work with any of these…so boys here you go some FREE ideas for colabs….

What track would you like to see Remixed?

As last year, the same track comes to the fore here, with Luetin being the most requested track destined for remixing, maybe out of wanting it to be released originally, fans want to see this one come out in some form or other…is it likely? I doubt it, but here’s hoping…

Juanita, Kittens, 8 Ball and Always Loved a Film are also suggestions for remixes, with ALAF most likely being as it’s the newest….

Who, who hasn’t already, would you like to Remix Underworld?

This question, for me, is the most fun and most liable to come true with so many new tunes about to come out with remixes, and so many names on the list below always looking and sounding good.

It maybe that some have already been signed up and maybe some will be asked after reading our requests…so Steve (at JBO), Rick & Karl…these are who we the fans would like to see take on your new music:

Steve Lawler / Aparrat, Amon Tobin, DJ Zinc, Shpongle, Way Out West, RJD2, Moby, PQM. Daft Punk, Ben Watt, Death in Vegas, LCD Sounsystem, Plump DJs, The Polyphonic Spree, Future Proof, NU NRG, The DFA, Zero 7, Aphex Twin, Elite Force, Yello, Deep Dish, Dave Seaman (BIR), Chemical Brothers, Rollo, BOC, Aphex Twin, Prince, Tom Middleton, Green Velvet, Alex Smoke, Microworld, Solaris Heights

Who is Your Favourite ‘Other’ Band?

A wide variety of bands, as usual, were voted as ‘second’ favourites by our Dirty voters….

With the most popular being New Order, Genisis, Moby, Autechre and Orbital

Final Question – Name an Underworld Track?

The idea behind this question kinda got lost on a couple of people, what I intended was that people come up with a ‘new’ unheard of track name for Underworld to theoretically use, and we would vote on the 20 best to find an overall winner…and we will do in another thread…see shortly…

However, some people just named existing Underworld tracks…which, I suspect they hoped would be picked out at random from a lucky dip type competition….anyway that wasn’t the idea…so the winner will be the one who penned the most popular name after its been put to the Dirty Forums vote. They then will win some goodies…
….

Anyway that’s - it the UW Poll over for another year…

Thanks for all those who voted and if you have any comments or questions please ask them in this thread and I’ll post my replies…

All the best

Ah, now, you see? This is where I have to disagree. Early Genesis, and indeed a lot of the early prog rock bands such as Yes, ELP, Floyd and so forth, paved the way for bands like Underworld, The Orb and Orbital, imo. And although in later years Genesis lost its way and became far too commercial for my taste, I certainly wouldn't put them in the same category as Bon Jovi.

But this is a discussion for another thread.

And Matt - I seem to remember saying that I would like to see Pink Floyd mix Underworld. Maybe you thought I was joking. ;)

Well, Bon Jovi was "good" enough for Orbital to sample in live versions of "Halcyon";)

Hey Big screen satellite, just outta curiosity, would you post the unique tracknames that were submitted? Could be worth a laugh or a second look!

"good" fully-deserving that punctuation - i thought the sample came close to ruining it - they over-egged the pudding imo!

i presumed it was like those multiple choice competition questions you get like:

Which team won the uefa champions league last year?

A Kidneypool

B Liverpool

C Gall Bladderpool

well, the poll question to me didn't make any sense. i thought i was supposed to name an existing UW track. it wasn't clear at all. so i put 'pearl's girl'. then i realised my mistake a week later, and sent in another email with the name 'iron nurse'. i guess it wasn't too great, considering it didn't make the final competition.

"So this year I am doing the same, and rather than asking you to come up with an album name, I am asking you to come up with a name for a single – simple as that.

The top 10 names (as chosen by me at the end of the poll) will be put to the Dirty forums and a forum poll will be conducted over a couple of weeks.

The title with the most votes will be the winner of some Underworld goodies, CD's Vinyl, & Promo Stickers (anything i have lying around really).

Please Note: This competition does not get your track name on a single, its purely for fun. It should also be noted Underworld are not affiliated to this competition in anyway, but should they like your track title, they may use it – you never know….so its just a little extra incentive.

What have you got to work with, well a lot…just look at the most recent track names, Bang the Poll, JAL to Tokyo, Pants…and classics from the past, Jumbo, Two Months Off, Cowgirl and Winjer to name a few, all you have to do is come up with your own, and add it to your poll entry form and i’ll do the rest – the winner will be notified through the forums after Xmas (after the two week Dirty forum vote)."

it was pretty well laid out...but i forget not everyone speaks the english ;)

you did have to read the stipulations and not just the question "name an underworld track"

rez

king of snake

what would be the fun in that??
