Hey all y'all!

So, i'm trying to finish writing my phd thesis, which unfortunately means i no longer have time to spend/waste in the evenings making music. Thus, i assembled the tracks i've been working on since June as my final AViD: advances in obsolete technology release for awhile. It's called "Concluded", it's driving electro, and you can get it here:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VP0F536I

15 tracks (192 mbps mp3), booklet art (jpegs), 76:14, 107 MB

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, and hope to do something more official with it, but in the meantime, hope you enjoy the freebie! As always, any feedback is most appreciated!

Cheers, :)
Holden

prolly referring to global communication's "76:14" which is regarded as a landmark electronic album ;)

Ah, i see! Well, my lil album is hardly a landmark, nor is it in the style of Global Communication, (rather, it's electro and breaks, with a very small doses of trance and ambient) but i'd still appreciate it if you check it out!

Do you think you or someone could host the file on sendspace.com? I like that one a lot more then megaupload - my internet already kinda blows so it's uber hella slow on my connection.

Here's a tag question for ya (since I'm rather anal about my tags):

Track 08:

is it

Stunning mix of light and smoke (as is on the cover)?

or

Stunning mix of smoke and lights (as indicated by the filename and partial ID31 tag)?

or what? :)

Hey, thanks for checking it out! The cover title is correct. i must've goofed when i labeled the mp3 files. This is what happens when you keep renaming tracks, things get confused!
Any thoughts on what you heard? i've been too close to the tracks for too long, so they may sound like absolute crap to everyone else!

Has anyone given this a spin? I know this forum and the internet in general is overflowing with unknown artists hawking their wares, so y'all are busy listening to better stuff than this. But i like comments, too! Especially as making this album was a very bittersweet experience for me...i'd love to hear if anything resonates with you, the esteemed listener:)

Hey, sorry I've been a bit sidetracked lately and forgot to reply! Thanks for the tag correction and yes, I've listened to this a couple times and it's a grower. I like ebm/industrial and some of these tracks have that flavor but I didn't know it until I played through them a second time. I enjoyed the album more then as I discovered new stuff I hadn't right away picked up on. My fave tracks are Deep Rest, Sentimental Shakedown, and Found Way Out. I'm not adept at talking about music (nor can I dance about architecture) so I hope you don't mind a rather superficial reply. Overall, Concluded is a keeper in my library. :)

I was going to comment yesterday when I thought I had played it enough to actually comment, then I realised that since I was playing it many times, I must like it! I particularly like the first and last songs. Great stuff!
