i've made myself some re-edits of "lovely broken thing" and also of "pizza for eggs", to make them sound more "flowing" to my ears, if you understand, what i mean with it.

"lovely broken thing" is now
1. jal to tokyo
2. billy goat
3. peggy sussed
4. lenny penne
5. monkey wink

"pizza for eggs" is now
1. food a ready
2. back in the fears
3. vanilla monkey
4. flatz
5. ancient phat farm coat
6. play pig
7. dub shepherd
8. witness

i may re-edit "pizza for eggs" again, because i still find "ancient phat farm coat" a little bit poor and a very similar piano line was already used to a much better effect in "ansum"- a wonderful song- before.

what do you think?

Interesting idea. :)

I like the way you added Witness to P4E instead. Seems to fit in far better with that style than on LBT.

As for Ancient Phat Farm Coat, I would have liked the version with the welsh lessons on it. ;) Not their strongest piece ever though.

thanks!

"dub shepherd" also fits in very well between "play pig" and "witness"- at least for my ears.

what version with the welsh language in it was that?
a live version?
i haven't heard that one- so far!

i simply love the welsh language ... and some very early freur stuff was in welsh too!

Witness is so great in P4E, its perfect final piece.

The first we heard of "Ancient Phat Farm Coat" was on a dirtyradio broadcast the boys did late in 2004, which started with the Welsh language lesson before fading into the music...

i've been enjoying both DL releases over the holiday break and really love their distinct feels. Even though its only a few minutes shorter, "Pizza" seems to go by really fast, and it's melancholy throughout...i wouldn't ming a more uplifting bit on it, although i'm sure UW know what they want and delivered!

Actually, i always found if you play LBt and PFE back to back, "Witness" is a great segue into PFE. Almost like a 60 minute piece instead of two seperate ones

noticed that too. had both back to back in my ipod and went running in the mist and rain of berkeley california over christmas. that transition between those two songs and those two larger pieces was delightful, sublime even.

made for great headspace if that makes sense. can't wait for whatever is next. only hope it is very very very soon. like now.

that's also a good idea- to play "witness" before the whole "pizza ..." track starts!

thanks a lot for your comments so far!

And how! One more 25-30 minute release and we'll have a nice, long-player length! It'll be interesting to see if it all flows

is this japanese ep the one that has the paul woolford remix of "jal to tokyo" on it?
besides that remix, are there any significant differences to the original tracks from "lovely ..." and "pizza ..." that are on it too?

Theres unedited/unmerged Food A Ready and JAL to Tokyo tracks which are a tiny bit longer, but the main track is the full version of Ancient Fat Farm Coat which is almost 20mins long.

thanks for the info!

is the 20 minutes long version of "ancient ..." the one with the welsh language lesson at the beginning or was that one only been played on dirty radio before?

an observation of me: "ancient ..." seems to have been originally created already during the same time they did "ansum"- i.e. a very similar piano line etc. ...

now the question is: where (and how) to get this japanese ep?

Yeah, but how many have conquered Japanese ITunes to get that? And anyway, it repeats Food a Ready (7:22 instead of 7:06), expands but repeats APFC from PIzza For Eggs (19:43 instead of 8:16), repeats JAL to Tokyo from LBT (5:48 vs 5:37) and includes the remix by another artist(not really a new track, imho). So, the way i see it, the japanese EP gets you about 11 more minutes, so we're still in the 65 minute range...Last i checked, i can get 79:59 on a CD.;)

you can even get 90 minutes of audio on certain cds, but they doesn't play in every cd-player then, only a few could do it- the ones that were made by sony!
another "japanese thing" that's hard to get, as i suppose!?

:D

Just saying, 65 minutes of new Underworld isn't the 75 minutes you mentioned, and i'd just said, put LBT+PFE+the next release, and you'll get yerself a long album. Remember the fuss when "A Hundred Days off" came out, about it only being like 62 minutes?!:p

But i'm certainly not complaining, especially with the new live tracks on underworldlive and stuff played on the radio show. With all that, it's lots more than 75 minutes!
