I may have brought this up before...

But I've always been aware that no one around here really mentions Built to Spill. If you like indie rock, or are generally open-minded, I can not give them a higher recommendation.

Start with a track called Velvet Waltz. The album that it's from, Perfect from Now On, is one of my most listened albums of my life, and, in all the time I've had it, I've always adored it. I probably can't say that for too much else.

I don't remember how accessible it is. I know when I got into them, friends would put them on and so I never really gave it a critical listen until I was already familiar with it. But, god, I love this band. Love.

I have been following this band for years. My favourite song is "Carry the zero". A friend of mine saw them live years ago and he said they kicked ass. Any Coldplay fan should listen to Built to Spill. Then you know what real "indie" sounds like. Great lyrics..great instrumentals.

Do let me know what you think, Leon.

They do kick all types of arse, live.

Got a hold on a copy already this evening *ahem*.

First track, yeah sounds good. I have to listen to it more to really like it, but this is just the first listen. It does sound good :)

Edit: Wow, "I Would Hurt A Fly" is amazing! There's that violin coming in in the middle I think, which has a nice melody, and the speeded drums and all the fireworks in the last part of the song is amazing!

Yeah, now you're hooked, see. Once you've realized one track is good, the rest is just a matter of time. Good.

heheh, yeah thanks again. While I'm not the biggest fan of rock, I listen to quite some rockmusic and I like this whole album.
