those not going to this (i.e. most of us...)

you can catch UW live plus backstage chat tonight on Radio 1...with Annie Mac

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/events/exit.shtml

not sure if its a full set or just dipping in and out....but we'll be here posting and on the offical chat sites...trying to gather as much new info and materials as possible....

considering that the radio show is only 2 hours long - i dont expect to hear more than a couple of tracks...and probably the usual (most famous ones) but we can hope...

What time does the broadcast start (UK time)?

What time does the broadcast start (UK time)?

according to the BBC R1 schedules the Annie Mac Show starts at 21.00, but it is quite possible that, the following two shows, Rob Da Bank & Annie Nightingale will be playing bits from Exit...especially as Rob is friends with Karl...

Great to hear our boys are back on the Road again weaving their magic.

Really looking forward to catching them in Zurich & Vienna

I'm going all out this time, I cant make the Dublin show, so I've decide to go
the extra mile (well it’s actually a couple of hundred miles) across Europe to
catch the boys -
How bad??

Dunno, sounds like they had problems. I wonder what problems they had?

OK, so it's probably Annie Nightingales show at 0100 BST... but it might be worth listening to Annie Mac and the Rob Da Bank. Just in case.

so that would put 1am BST to 8pm EST by my account.

UK is always 5 hours ahead of us here on the east coast of the states.

yeah and she called it "Rez" hehe

Yeah... I guess she probably meant to play the more-well-known-and-classic Rez to tie in with UW live tonight.

Good to hear it on the radio though, huh?

big screen satellite

well Rez is track 4 and Spikee is track 5...someone must've pressed the wrong track number

Anyone rec that?;)

No, but it was a few seconds before I realized it wasn't a snippet of tonight's live stuff. I was swearing at my lack of a decent recording source before I sussed it.

(Crap digital radio that appears to be MONO right down to the line out! )

I might be, if I can borrow some FM gear from my flatmates.

Hopefully somebody more savvy and reliable will be recording though! :)

Its actually the 2nd time shes done that - she played it about 9 months ago, on one of her first shows right at the end as the last track and did exactly the same thing and called it rez - i was dying to correct her ;)

Maybe she has a badly mis-labelled illegal copy. Naughty, naughty BBC. ;)

Or maybe it's another government I.T. system cock-up. (one for the world forum regulars there...)

I WAS FUCKING THERE!!!!

now 5.10 in the morning, and the festival is still going strong. read something about time problems at the beginning of the set, thats cos there was a huge firework display before the boys got to do their stuff,

carl looked resplendant in a white jacket, and newly shaved head, and was clearly loving every moment of the show, dancing around all over the place. messrs smith and price spent the show behind the desk.

BIG GREEN LASER returns, but i didnt think the visuals were mindblowing, or at least not as good as some i have seen

highlights for me; a very long live vesion of rez/cowgirl, and moaner encore. i was ecstatic fanboy all the way thru the set, but now i need my bed.

The drum 'n bass like track was great, some very nice beats indeed (there is a loop from the Depeche Mode - Barrel of a Gun hard mix in there somewhere, you can hear it at about 14.40 when the rest of the beats drop out for a moment)
Not quite clear wether this part was improv or an actual track, sounds more like an improv to me until 16.30 and then a proper new track starts.

potatobroth
07-08-2005, 06:58 AM
as for the D'nB song, it was VERY remniscent of Bungalo With Stairs that Rick did solo a few years back.

Well, it's like his second gig with R+K. Give him a chance to get comfortable first before the mixing starts.

Well, it's like his second gig with R+K. Give him a chance to get comfortable first before the mixing starts.

I guess I can buy that. But based on the posts on uwlive, they've been jamming for quite some time now. Maybe Pricey's still got a bit of a leash on.

;)

Jamming in the studio is quite a bit different than performing in front of thousands of people. Apparently, Darren was quite nervous the first gig, so I'd think it's more of letting him get comfortable first.

Definately. Now that i listen to it a second time, there's been a ton of work put into it. I like alot, that beat is absolutely sick! Best thing about this mp3 is, it shows that they're still very good at putting together live music. I can't wait for the US tour...
