Surprised there hasn't been a thread yet about the 4 new songs premiered at the Royal Albert Hall show. A bit going on at the Underworld Reddit about it. Very promising and epic (especially Strawberry Hotel) - can't wait to see what this all turns into.

Don't be discouraged! These 4 tracks should all be great news-harbingers of more new releases, and perhaps 10-15 years ago this forum would have devoted a new thread to each track to discuss, dissect, and speculate. Not really a lot of discussions happened in the Live gig thread, TBH. Acknowledging that the forum, fanbase, and how we perceive new music have changed, it's still exciting that our favorite band is still creating and hopefully still releasing new tunes soon. In 2003 i would have been downloading a dodgy bootleg from the gig via FTP!

Here's hoping these all get official releases as part of some new project and we (whoever is still active here) will take a deeper dive.

Thank you both, appreciated! Hoping that we get more news soon about what this new project is and assume we'll discuss it all more once officially released (beyond just the new single). The other tracks seem even more interesting and emotional, though I do appreciate the new banger. :)

of the 4 I thought "And the Colour Red" was the least exciting - as good as it is. "Gene Pool" in particular sounds great, I love that weirdo melodic side of them. can't wait to hear them properly.

My one takeaway from these is how heavy the beats are. Almost a return to the 909-heavy sound of the '90s stuff. A lot of the stuff this century has been mellower, even the more straight-up techno stuff, so this is an intriguing direction. Looking forward to hearing studio versions of them all.

Well, they already turned to a lot more heavy-ish, stripped down techno sound on several Drift tracks so it feels like a natural continuation from that.

Yeah, it feels like a growth from the 'Another Silent Way' end of things, I suppose. I guess the audience recording probably adds a rougher quality anyway, but they definitely feel more like that than stuff like 'Listen to Their No' and 'Border Country'.

Thank you for uploading these tracks. I was just at the SF gig on Friday and wanting to hear "Gene Pool" again. It was a real highlight, pounding and euphoric.

Strawberry Hotel... I want more. Hello all. It's been a good minute since I've posted. Unfortunately missed the Coachella show, but hoping the uw lads will make their way back to Cali. From watching some clips from Coachella and other shows, I'm only seeing R & K on stage. I wonder if the new tracks are just the duo...

Actual video of Strawberry Hotel from Royal Albert Hall

You mean Darren Price? When it comes to live shows, they've been performing as a duo for a little while now, like the last 5 or 6 years. But Darren Price wasn't a full producer on their albums. I think he co-produced one track on Barking. Rick has been the main producer since Emerson left. Barking was the one album where Rick collaborated with different producers on each track. High Contrast co-produced tracks on Barbara. The massive Drift series, except for a couple collabs, was produced by Rick.

Pedantic, I know, but these were actually premiered at the Bristol marble Factory the day before.
