Its time for a new modern chat solution to take us into the 2020s and beyond.
So, the new chat server has been chosen and its hosted on DISCORD.
Discord is a fairly well known chat solution with around 300 million users worldwide. For our purposes, its very well featured and gives us the important features we need for free. It has different chat rooms, unlimited chat history, bots, and customizations. For the more advanced users, it has a streaming mode and can do video chat. You can also join from multiple locations at once, unlike WhatsApp.
More importantly it runs on Windows, MacOS, Android, ChromeOS, iOS , Linux and in the web browser. You can download the client here: https://discord.com/download
