I don't suppose anyone knows what headphones Karl wore in the late 90s for all the gigs? Some Sonys.
Does anyone know what he would be listening to? Obviously no silly remarks like "Britney Spears" or "Bruce Springsteen", but would he be listening to the soundboard, a particular mix from Rick, etc? Interested.

Also, what in ear monitors does he use these days?

Sony MDR-V600 for sure. Popular DJ headphones.
He's probably listening to a mix of the desk with louder vocals than you'd get out the PA, so he's certain to hear himself plus what's going on.

The in ears are likely a custom job.

Thanks both!
Yes probably custom, makes sense.

Pretty cool info, as well. Always thought he looked so cool tearing it up on stage with those cans.

The best headphones I've ever used. I had mine for 10+ years before they finally fell apart.

I have some MDR-1R. No idea how they compare, but I love them. Using them right now!

I've used some MDR V6s before. They were (and still are) pretty good for their price, but there's a LOT of amazing headphones that have released in the last 20 years.

Very true. Speakers and headphones alike are in a different league now. As for today's music, that's another topic!
