View Full Version : New Uw Download Ep On 7th December

Dirty0900

Details:

Underworld release 25 minute download only EP "Pizza For Eggs" on December 7 via underworldlive.com. A more ambient release than last months Lovely Broken Thing. It includes remixes by Pete Heller and Matinez.

Chances of the Japanese only stuff being on here look quite high. I wonder if the remixes are included in the 25 minute package or seperate.

Nice...just about a month since LBT!

however, though i've always appreciated UW using whatever word associations they want for titles and lyrics, "Pizza for Eggs" isn't their best, imho.

MAD

surely something can be done about this...anyone?!?!

why can't we at least have some simultanious release info....

Well, UW did say they were going about releasing music in a different way. And maybe part of it is generating buzz through various sources. It all comes back to dirty forums anyway.

i agree with Dirty0900...it's fun this way...the news leaks and builds.

anyone else becoming confused by all these different release methods?

that said, i'll be ready for it on Dec. 7th. can't say im anywhere near excited that there will be remixes combined with uw material (if that is the case -- although i dont imagine there will be.) i AM excited however, to hear AFFC and the likes.

and yea, BigScreen, without sounding grouchy and ungrateful (which i dont want to come off as; im still giggling giddy as i write this) but my head is spinning due to all these different releases and release schedules as well as where our info is coming from.

i think it's all rather thrilling and fun.

next i'll be looking at my local news and hear christina mendonza gabble excitedly that underworld are releasing "ugly tom's vacation" via their website.

come on, how is this not fun?

ps. pizza for eggs sounds really dreadful until you see it on a shirt am i right?
or wrong. i'm just having the same reaction when i heard about DA3D.

i know i won't try to plug it to anyone. i mean, pizza for eggs. honestly.

If "Pizza for eggs" is going to be more ambient, i wouldnt be surprised if some of the ambient bits they've been playing live get released. There are 3 or 4 that have cropped up a few times at shows.

Also, if it's only 25 min long/ 5-ish tracks, i wonder if Ancient Fat Farm Coat gets included?

While it can catch someone off guard to have underworld info sprung on them, but I really like this new pattern of releases and the way the boys are going about doing things.

As someone else said, it all gets back to the forums one way or another so I think everyone might need to just take a breath or two.

As dubman mentioned to looking in his local news, I'm waiting for something to pop up in a classified ad in my newspaper. You never know the way things are going now.

ooo...maybe even a chance meeting ad...it go like the following.

"Me: new EP. You: hungry listener. Come check me out at www.underworldlive.com"

i'm not particularly saying Underworld owe us anything, but just thought it would be nice that the 'official' sites are informed first...is that not just common sense?

Underworld have new tour and release schedules coming all the time, and where would you expect to look for info first, (often on a daily basis), yes - on the Dirty / UW sites...

but no you have to wait for someone to chance upon it in an obscure location and report it back...surely a better way is to tell the fans at the same time as telling other sources...

i like the way Underworld operate, but feel that the information coming out from UW HQ is pretty random and disorganised

i know if no-one told us about this that there would have been a mad rush on the 7th, but it's kinda nice to be informed once in a while, even if its bad news (japan I-tunes tracks....)

Yeah, I think it'll be doubtful that we get a 19 min version Ancient Phat Farm Coat if the whole release is 25 min. Maybe a shorted version like Second Hand (shortened version of Thing in a Book)?

Either way its new UW stuff...hard to complain. :D

Karl calls that "feeling the buzz" onm today's UWlive post!

"all newstuff" for this, hmm? Does that mean no "Ancient Fat Farm Coat?" since it is over a year since that got played on dirtyradio? Or maybe since it wasn't properly released, it'll still see the light of day (other than on Japanese iTunes)?

so my question is:

Will they be releasing a bundle of music once a month (keeping with the current release schedule) from now on? better yet, for how long?

150 song divided by 6 (avg) per bundle is 25 months of UW.:D

...also £125:(

any thoughts?

i wouldn't mind that.
i can do $9 a month.

though i think more of the tracks will come out as singles when the album comes out.

and i really dont think "you do scribble" will make it on any release guys, it just doesnt make sense to divorce it from lenny penne.
again, probably a live-only treat.

now "5 points", that's *my* impossible hope.

5 points would b e a dream come troo.

it's a good track, very simple (just those three chords), and i think some versions of it had a nice build. But i don't think it's that special. i think it reminds me too much of a slowed-down "rising son" UW remix.

This is a really, really great piece of music. I think I enjoy it more than anything Underworld has done since 'Beaucoup Fish'. Doesn't really sound anything like a) I've heard recently, b) Underworld has done in the past. I'm sure people are going to start throwing around comparisons to things like "Banstyle/Sappy's Curry", and that's not an unfair comparison, but I think that's more because the intangibles of Underworld are seeping through - as a body of work its entirety in a class of its own.

Would be awesome if it's as good as Banstyle/Sappy's Curry or Most 'Ospitable, those being my favourite UW "ambient" tracks. Not saying it should sound like those tracks, but just that kind of quality and deep and moving atmosphere.

Actually, I'd be really surprised if that song DIDN'T make a release. I'm pretty sure they're holding it out for the next album...it would be very bizarre if they played a new track live that DIDN'T get released now, as they're putting out mini-albums every month that would 'catch' the track if it didn't make the next album, but I'm sure that UW know how good this new song is and the reception it gets, no reason to make it live-only. Would really be bizarre if they kept it that way (not to mention disappointing, that track actually got me back into Underworld when I first heard it several months ago).

Yannick is in a (un)fortunate position, along with Scott of hearing loads of stuff before it gets released but are big fans of the music and want to tell all about it but cant. Its like being given a Ferrari and not being able to take it out of the driveway.

You can wait another few hours anyway :)

Scott Warner

Well put, Stimpee.

Normally I just keep my mouth shut because I personally get really annoyed by anyone who meanders on to any kind of forum and starts going on about "Well, I've heard such and such, I've seen such and such..." If you have the privilage to have access to popular entertainment before the general public it's just good form to keep it to yourself, particularly if you are personally involved with the creators in some fashion.

However, in this case, I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm really excited about this particular piece of music and I'm really anxious for you to hear it, share your thoughts. Also, it'll be out for you in only a few hours time. And, as with all Underworld releases to date, I'll be one of the first people to buy it. :)
