I can't remember hearing him talk much about his time in UW since he's left, but he talks quite a bit about it here:

Darren says here that he created “Rez” with Rick! I was under the impression that was a Rock track he created alone in his bedroom.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the story exactly is. On these releases, Rez is credited to Smith/Hyde, with Emerson as Producer and Mixer on one:

https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Rez/release/11758
https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Rez-Cowgirl/release/9281747

This later release also just credits Smith/Hyde:

https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-Rez-Cowgirl/release/248564

But then on the Cowgirl single and 1992-2012 Anthology, Emerson is given writing credit:

https://www.discogs.com/Underworld-1992-2012-The-Anthology/release/3400505

For licensing purposes, Emerson is listed as a Composer:

https://www.easysonglicensing.com/pages/help/resources/song-copyright-holder-information.aspx?s=459912&q=rez

But on this licensing site, he's a Composer, but not an Author like Hyde and Smith:

I'd tend to give the licensing sites a little more weight. But who knows what the difference between a composer and author is?
