A live studio jam that sees Pearl’s Girl stretched out like elastic. It’s an exploration of the Second Toughest… track that turns the original inside out and back to front over twenty six minutes of thundering drums, deep techno, elegiac ambience and beyond.

holy crap!

Oh, and it has the same synth intro as PG from the "Live At The Oblivion Ball" album

I wish this improv style would filter back to the live shows.

Are we to assume this is a new jam or something from the old days?

You know, I'd been pretty burned out on Pearls Girl for years, just not feeling the excitement after endless playings and by-the-album live performances.

and then, THIS jamming version shows up and restores my faith in PG!

So deep, full of new sounds amongst the familiar, and even those classic loops and vocals are twisted into new shapes!

I have just confirmed with UWHQ - this jam is from 2024.

It's really wonderful. If Underworld had done this live I'd have left my body.

Love the "Kittens" cameo in the middle.

Damn! This is melting my brain! Jesus. So good! And kittens in there. Love it

Also, given this, last weeks release and their teases, I’m ready to speculate that we will get an Everything, Everything re-release.

I would pay a lot for that.

There are also some other bits that sound familiar... maybe from the 'Sunshine' soundtrack (or a Lemonworld broadcast)?

I wonder if they did this jam to generate new material - or if it was an experiment / idea for potential live performance / webcast?

So, June 24th, 2008... is like, the second half of the OWB Tour, right? And it's a full 6 months before the "Underworld vs. Bungalow with Stairs Live - SuperDub - Installation/DJ Jam"*

They hadn't quite started on 'Barking' - as "Between Stars" & "Diamond Jigsaw" weren't played live until July '09.

*...also, I'm just realizing, was that really the last webcast UW did? It was seriously over 10 years ago???

What the hell is "Underworld vs. Bungalow with Stairs Live - SuperDub - Installation/DJ Jam"?

I take it you're talking about the synth line that appears from about 22:36-23:05? I'm not quite sure what to call that. It appears in Ansum, Corazon Finds the Seedling, and Kingdom (from wordimagesoundplay).

Well, technically there is A Crude Webcast from Sept. 2009, but it wasn't live, and it's only 32 minutes, and it only has one Underworld-related track.

What the hell is "Underworld vs. Bungalow with Stairs Live - SuperDub - Installation/DJ Jam"?
I think he's talking about the Christmas 2008 radio show, Underworld vs. Bungalow with Stairs.

It will take a couple more listens to this jam and the source material, but I'm pretty sure I hear 11000 Hz mixed in there, similar but not as extensively as they did with Nuxx at the Heineken LHN show in 07 or 08. Fairly positive I hear some.other RR material too.

There are parts of Ansum in there as well. Karl's vocal effect at the end is lifted from the studio version of Best Mamgu Ever.
