Wow! This just made my day. That is some quality techno.
I loved Another Silent Way last week, but this is even better.
It's been a while since they put out a 'hard' track like this. A banger indeed!

Drift Episode 2 - Dexters Chalk gave me a thought that it sounds in part like one of the boys contemporaries. For anyone with Orbitals Blue Album (2004) track 7 Acid Pants, there are some real similarities (apart from the vocals from Sparks lead singer Russell Mael)

Anyone else feel that way ? Its OK, on first listening.

Maybe worth a different post, but the main contemporaries of Underworld always seem to be a short list of:
Orbital
Dust Brothers / Chemical Brothers
The Prodigy
(That would make a great gig when I win the lottery - you are all invited ! though I might add Public Service Broadcasting too

Any others to add that I should be aware of ?

Dexter, of course, provided the drawings for the covers of Barking and Live from the Roundhouse.

The vocals about the man and dog at 2:42 appeared in the Drift trailer (but with no music underneath).

really hoping so. I remember when the UW shop was full of awesome tracks like "Swing up High" and "Phonestrap"...dunno if we're getting a coherent album or whatever but I really would love to get all this stuff on the pod to add to my 5-hour list of awesome non-album tracks

Believe it or not this was the first time I'd heard of Sparks. "Acid Pants" is not exactly a great track (this one is far better I think) but that put 'em on my radar and a year later they were one of my favorite bands.

The 'Acid Pants' comparison had me worried - a really low point in Orbital's career - but this is much better. Nice track, not as good as last week's maybe, but great to hear them with so much energy again.

Another that doesn't seem to be quite the full version too. Maybe we'll be getting some 12"s with these on or something.

i absolutely adored Another Silent Way and this is a great follow up. the two tracks that have been revealed so far are absolutely hard hitting and exhilarating, a complete contrast with what was on BBWFASF. really hoping all of episode 1 is compiled into its own release for all streaming platforms (interestingly, Dexters Chalk is also listed as being the (Film Edit) on soundcloud; it cuts out at the very end in the stream and youtube video https://soundcloud.com/underworld/dexters-chalk)

I'm pretty sure they are called "film edits" as they have been edited to fit the videos that accompany them. I think the start of Dexters Chalk has been cut as well and the start of the full version is probably the version without any beats on the drift trailer?

I think the 'full' version is the 5:30 video version as opposed to the 30 second version posted to Insta/Twitter.
