Just wondered what instrumentals we know exist that aren't remixes.
So far I know the entirety of Barking has instrumentals, and some of Barbara Barbara... I've been able to use those to phase cancel against the album versions to isolate Karl's vocals better for transcription. If there are other instrumentals out there it would be nice to find those to use too.
Not asking for downloads of course, just information.
I've attached an example of phase cancelling in Grace to show what I'm using them for, it's only 10 seconds long.

I dunno if its the forum software that chooses the icons for mp3, but seeing the winamp logo is making me nostalgic, lol.

My collection is pretty complete, and besides Barking, these are the only ones:
Bruce Lee (DJ Hype & DJ Zinc Instrumental Mix)
The First Note Is Silent (Instrumental)
If Rah (Instrumental)
I Exhale (DJ Koze Remix Instrumental)
Diamond Jigsaw (The Invisible Instrumental)
Nylon Strung (Instrumental)
Ova Nova (Instrumental)

Yes, it's the default for our c.2000 forum software, lol

It's a shame there's so few instrumentals out there, i have pretty much all the ones you've listed.
Hoping new material includes some instrumentals on the singles for more phase cancelling.

I remember making my own instrumentals (and remixes) using the idrum loops.
Also,, there's a lot of tracks where you could edit the vocal sections out to make
your own instrumentals.

OFF TOPIC: Winamp still works :-) get it from winamp.com (Windows/Mac) If you want a modern player that uses Winamp skins, try QMMP which is available for most platforms. I use it with a Winamp skin.

thanks to the wonderful advances in music technology, ai, and
processors. there are now a lot of great tools out there to work
on audio files.
i remember looking into celemony, and it was awesome,
but incredibly tedious:
https://www.celemony.com/en/melodyne/what-is-melodyne
anyways, i'm working on some newer experiments and going
back to the dubnobasswithmyheadman era.
will post some experiments in the craft area.

Hey - slight tangent, but if isolating vocals is the aim, there are some clever AI tools that can do this really well.
Depending on your technical expertise, the open-source Spleeter tool can work wonders https://github.com/deezer/spleeter
(Windows GUI tool is here, but haven't tried it myself - https://github.com/boy1dr/SpleeterGui )
Attached are are few seconds running on the same track as above.

yeah, i tried, it works pretty well on short tracks,
but has a lot of limitations, its pretty much a pain to install,
and is picky about the files.
so yes, i did test it on some underworld edits.
but there is better software out there.
