Barbara Barbara debuted at #10 on the UK's Top 100 albums chart this week.

That's the highest position an Underworld album has attained since Beaucoup Fish debuted at #3.

AHDO was #16, OwB #45, and Barking #26.

Wow that is cool! #10 is really significant for an album like this and a band like Underworld. They are well known but not exactly chart toppers these days. The album must really be getting traction. Good for them!

OWB only got to #45? Wow. I missed that. Though, admittedly, I missed UW between 2006-2010, for where they were wasn't where I was, if that makes sense.

According to the latest USA Billboard charts (dated April 9), the 'Barbara, Barbara...' release is number 1 in the 'Top Dance / Electronic Albums'. Also #200 in the overall chart.

Veteran electronic act Underworld (http://www.billboard.com/artist/277628/underworld/chart) enters Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums (http://www.billboard.com/charts/dance-electronic-albums) chart (dated April 9) at No. 1 with Barbara Barbara, We Face a Shining Future, its second leader on the list. Underworld's first set in more than five years sold 4,000 in its first week, according to Nielsen Music, marking the British group's best sales week since Nov. 3, 2007, when its first No. 1, Oblivion With Bells, also arrived with 4,000 (although slightly more than its new release before rounding off totals).

Underworld's last album, Barking, hit No. 6 in 2010. Barbara is the act's fifth chart hit and fourth top 10. It's also Underworld's seventh album to impact the Billboard 200 (http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200) (debuting at No. 200). Three Underworld albums predated Top Dance/Electronic Albums (which premiered in July 2001), but hit the Billboard 200, including its only collection to crack the chart's upper half, Beaucoup Fish (No. 93, 1999).

I didn't check here for a few years and only actually found out about OWB from the AllMusic New Releases mailing list, I think. It was such an under-promoted album.

Not to put a downer on this, but I think album sales are generally a lot lower than they used to be.

Still good to hit #10 though.

Of course they are. But album sales are down across the entire music industry. And the chart positions are still relative to the rest of the industry, so relatively speaking, it's still doing better than the other albums.

Of course, the absolute number of albums sold is down. That's why there are things like the Special Edition to make up some of those revenues.

charts are great ( insert slightly sarcastic emoji ) .
reviews are more worth it to me, and this album's getting fantastic 8/10 reviews.
Their best since Beaucoup...and that's saying quite a bit.
