Looks like a good few new videos are up on youtube now... here is a live live performance from 91 of ME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T3IAYUvKJA&list=PLehAq9SJvDGgyty6ni1-zxck-y6UKEeTC
and a version of Dark and Long... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8Nwf7oX39w&list=PLehAq9SJvDGgyty6ni1-zxck-y6UKEeTC
EDIT: These could potentially be meant for later release but have been made available only if you have the direct link above... for some reason i was able to access them through the UWLive youtube account homepage.

I'm just happy that underworld are releasing "new" music. Listening to these jams, works in progress, even the Misteron mix (which certainly takes modern production and a bit of nostalgia into account)... It all reminds me why I love this band. New aspects of familiar records are uncovered or recognized. I now have a greater appreciation for the final Dubno LP ...it could have been closer to mki uw than it is, or it could have been too rambling and jammy. The process that underworld is revealing, through these new tracks and mixes, as well as the proto-DAT from a few years ago, is truly unique and remarkable for us fans to savor. How many classic albums get this degree of reminiscence?

That live version of Mother Earth is a trip. Is Rick even on stage? Can't wait to hear this in the concert hall next month!
And the version of Dark & Long contains elements of the version in the Cutting Room Floor mix, which others have said was actually given away in 2010 as part of an UWLive.com campaign. Is it possible that was actually a vintage alternate version and not a new mix?
Yeah its great they are releasing for free all these bonus tracks that we paid for an are not even released yet :)

Consider it a nice preview as well as good advertising. People are intrigued by what they hear in a YouTube clip or 128 mp3 and will perhaps buy the superdelux box. I don't care that they preview tracks...they're not freely releasing high fidelity files or all of the bonus tracks

The d&l that was released in 2010 is absolutely the same as in the misteron mix. Question now becomes, were they already working on remastering back then, before the Olympics were done?

I understand, and its what other bands do too.. but I just hate to spoil the surprise. I wish they would put their social media to better use by releasing other things like live video snippets from that era, or other cuttings that won't make it to the box set. Perhaps even a commentary of how the album was put together. There is so much more in their archive.

I would guess that it's done to try and get the casual Underworld fan interested in buying the new product. A lot of us here would be buying the boxset no matter what. Heck, I even ordered the blu-ray and I don't own a quality sound system.
But I'm with others that maybe they could show segments of stuff that isn't up to par for release but worthy of a social media upload.

Good thing I saved it to my laptop. It's really good stuff. Is the M.E. video the earliest known live video of a MK II song?

Would it technically be a MK I song?

Its interesting to me, the relative newb here, to see that the dividing line between mk 1 and 2 wasn't so defined as I thought it was. The various demos out there really highlight that too.

Skyscraper live is brilliant. Despite the static setlist of late, they did play it during the Glasgow gig.
I've got the setlist with it handwritten on, but it's been misplaced
for now.

I've always felt that ME was a deliberate nod to their MK1 roots... keeping the door open to get back to that at some point maybe, but clearly the whole MK2 electronic vibe really took off in a big was and Dubno was just the beginning.
To be honest I listen to some of Hyde's solo work recently and the lyrics on Barking - It is not far off the vibe that they had in MK1 ... I really feel it has come full circle recently, and the Dubno gig/release that we have now could actually be the cycle echoing itself... they are rediscovering the tracks, remembering the time they made it and the emotions.
Perhaps we will get new material soon that will embrace that same electronic vibe and we'll get some more house / techno tracks with Karl's vocals deeper in the mix than they have been recently.

I have thought similarly about the cycle. Barking brings UW all the way back around to a mainstream pop sound (granted one they helped create as opposed to one they are chasing). They've since gone out individually and explored a few other avenues and are coming back together again.
Its funny you say that about techno vibes, I've been listening to 020202 recently and that reminds me of a lot of the modern techno being made, shame they haven't trotted that one out live. I'm really hoping they play something new at that maida vale session, even as a tease, but would honestly be surprised if they did, so as not to pull attention away from the dub no reissue.

Karls diary from today (Friday the 26th) talks fondly of dub no and stiti and a desire to head in a less lyrical/vocal/front man direction. We may just be seeing a return to some older production and artistic values.

i was there, then, and it was truly amazing. i agree they should release the whole gig, if it exists... i was eternally happy when this showed up on youtube.
however, four days before, on 31.03.1994, underworld played at tivoli, utrecht (also netherlands). i was there too. this is, to this day, the best concert ever in my life. topping my first kraftwerk concert or autechre and orbital on the same night in amsterdam. this utrecht concert has somehow always been underneath the radar. i posted questions about it on the forums many years ago (when i was somewhat in a more talkative mode) but no one knew about it. it even never appeared in any gigography. since tivoli put up their history online at least there is proof that i did not dream ( http://www.tivoli.nl/tijdmachine/index?e=1249#year=1994;month=maart;event=1249 ).
but anyway, as i recall, the paradiso concert, four days later, relatively disappointed because the songs were so recognisable. even as the paradiso clip sounds so free and improvised now, the utrecht gig was much more improvised, mixing the different tracks much more radically. later, i heard the recordings of for instance the tramway 1994 concert, which comes close to the experimental feeling, but still i think that utrecht 1994 was more of a total jam. certainly more than amsterdam on the monday after. so i am still waiting for footage coming up from tivoli. no idea if it exists.
one thing i still vividly recall from utrecht is a vocal sample that i heard at that moment as "call me reeeeeezzzz" (indeed during a part which was 'rez'). i have never heard that ever again, nor live or in all the recordings i listen to. would love to hear that again, at least to prove my memory is right.
whatever underworld is going to do at the dubno-tour (and in the light of what i read from karl about his thoughts about singing etc) i hope they interpret the 'album' also as the attitude which they had in that time. translate to 2014, even better. but improvise along.
Swift,
Thanks for the valuable information, I have updated the Gigography accordingly http://uwlive.rowla.com/gigs/view/497
Sorry I missed your post back in 2006 http://www.borndirty.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4169
If you have any more information to add, please let me know.

Mike, you're missing a gig. The Skyscraper video you linked on the Gigography is from 1994-04-02. There were TWO Paradiso gigs in 1994.
Thanks for clearing that up Todd. I just thought that the date was wrong.
