I remember it being mentioned in interviews and at a set I've heard. The incident was surrounding the 1992 experimental sound field. Though now that I look it up, It's the glastonbury festival 1998 set that Karl mentions it, so perhaps it's forgiven or I'm just confused about something.

AFAIK there wasn't a curfew in those days - I think that started round '94/'95 and didn't get really bad until the turn of the century...

...and UW have played and headlined Glastonbury a few times; so they're certainly not a banned band!

Double checked today, and after the soundcheck at the 98 glastonbury set (on the tracker!) Karl says, "...we played in a field over the back (bank?) as part of the experimental sound field where, uh, after 14 hours we got chucked off the site... We could go for it again if you like."

So banned they obviously aren't, but I'm not completely making things up either!

And you forget that they headlined the main stage (behind the Magic Street Cleaners) in 1999. A part of which was on Everything Everything (and i was there at the front...)

I was only introduced to them a couple years ago... I've done my very best to educate myself on every little piece of lore going back the last few decades, but there's bound to be a *few* gaps in knowledge that come from not being there at the time. Guess I REALLY need to get to work on my time machine.
