Decided to start a separate thread to discuss this,
what it is, what it isn't, etc..

and technically its the 'beacoup fish visuals' tape,
their typo, not mine!

originally posted here :

main information:
=========================
speaking of videos..

something must have froze over!!!!

i have my video collections with me.
AND a video digitizer..

i FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY have digitized
the promo 'beaucoup fish' visuals videotape..
(which i mentioned after the album came out)..

this is the 74 minute NTSC VHS videotape, that
is basically the whole album, set to slightly
synchronized video.. some of it loops, and most
of it is the cowgirl video, and parts of other clips.
push upstairs is the actual video.. and moaner is
sort of also.. there are several shots from live
concerts of that year too..

ok, a few problems
=======================
1) digitized the whole thing to one big MPG file
2) have not split it up
3) haven't overdubbed with better sound source

4) DON'T HAVE HIGHSPEED Or constant internet,
so i can't upload to the rtsr tracker just yet (working
on this)

what i'll try to do, is take the interesting parts,
and put them up as a youtube preview..

by the way, this is from the record label,
so i would consider it official..

no, it's not a great showpiece for underworld or
tomato (unless you've never seen them before)..

but it's still a cool thing to check out for completists..

==================
I haven't heard of this video before. Is it listed on Discogs or Big Screen Satellite's discography? I can't find it. Which label is it from? JBO? V2?

it has both jbo and v2 on it.

not sure if i saw it on any discography site..

it doesn't even have any barcodes, or reference
catalog numbers.

nothing on the case except for a sticker..

*NOTE : they misspelled 'beaucoup' as 'beacoup' on both labels..

and some live video..

some parts of it syncs up...

basically, the rest of the songs are like this also..

i'd post cups, but it's really long...

will work on converting and posting the other songs..

Thanks for this - "brilliant" or not, for those of us who never saw it - it's a treat nonetheless. Cheers!

nice, thanks for posting these, raj. I recognized the clip of Rick and Darren near the end of that Winjer video from this Much Music interview:

ok, let's start going in order again..

first things first.. cups.. the first
song, and really long!
============================

lots of nice little bits and pieces in there..

the transition to cups is brilliant..
overall, this is probably the best video,
just because of the editting.

any thoughts?

ahhhhhh.....memories from seeing them on that tour :D

interesting choices of video at times since it seems rather out of place to see the cowgirl/pearls girl stuff during cups!

here's part 7/11,
with bruce lee,

which has a lot of the 'born slippy
video in it:

and here's push downstairs part 9/11

mostly live footage.. would be tough
to do a video, or maybe just slow
it down to work better?

Thanks for uploading these, negative1!

Definitely enjoyed the different version of "Jumbo". Though i like all of UW's albums, for some reason "Beaucoup Fish" will always feel most immediate to me. Good nostalgia flowing through these clips.

Thanks for posting these, -1. On the Moaner video though, it seems like it's out of sync by about a second or two. Is it that way on the VHS video, or is that a digitization error?

that's exactly the way it was on the videotape.

at some point i want to go back and extract
the unique footage. and resynch all the videos
to match the videos a lot better..
and use more from the commercial videos,
and other footage..

this has the possibility of being a lot better,
than what seems like a rushed or aborted project.

Frankly, it's about 15 minutes of footage looped over and over. It's edited differently a few times, but it's still all the same footage. Seems like a label job to me. Graham might have a more definitive answer on it though.

yeah that would be cool if graham has
some insight into this.
