hello all

I had the pleasure of seeing underworld perform this past summer at the Main Square Festival in Arras France on July 3. About halfway through the set they played a song that I have been exhaustively searching for with no luck. The main hook of the song was Michael Jackson's "Beat it" and there was also some bluesy slide guitar mixed towards the end of the song.

The song was very much in the vein of Underworld but the use of "Beat It" stands far out from anything I've heard from them. Youtube results bring up someones own remix of underworld, Jackson, and Marilyn Manson. This certainly isn't it.

Does any one know the name of the track or where I can get it?

TIA

When i heard the vocal loop you menton, i didn't associate it with MJ at all.... but i'm not really much of an expert on that..

What i am an expert on is that the song they were performing was Spikee (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pI3OpIGEBNY).

Awesome song indeed! Kinda "beat it if you can" :D

The sample you heard was saying "Feel It", part of a larger sample saying "Can you feel it?" It might be MJ, but it would be from the Jackson 5's "Can You Feel It" rather than "Beat It"

While it was indeed Spikee, you won't be able to buy that particular version of it that you saw, because these manipulations are something they've only been doing to the song live this year, to keep it fresh. The studio version Mike linked is awesome too though.

You can listen to what you heard here:

holy shit

Thank you So Much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn crazy how amazing the festival sound system is compared to anything else. I may record this and boost the bass and such in FL. I have to have this.

BTW Is there somewhere on the net that has rarer stuff like this? stuff that's mainly them experimenting? I have every album and all the major EPs and I am hungry for new

RTSR (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/rtsrboardoftrade/) and RTSR Tracker (http://tracker.rtsr.org/). We have a catalogue of some 200+ live sets, and plenty of rarities - such as the Dubno & AHDO demo versions - although don't expect things handed on a plate to you, you might need to do a bit of searching through the archives to find the stuff you need :)
