Great. Love this kind of uplifting, 'happy' D'n'B.

None too busy for me. The usual dullness is the reason why I can't dance all night to D'n'B alone. Made worse only by loud, prattling, self-absorbed MCs with '90s meshback hats.

Like the vibe. As i mentioned on FB, I'm missing the bass. Yes there's a subbass going on but imo there should be something above that too.

If you listen to this track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbu5MWy6dGw&feature=related (You've played this on one of your shows and I think it sounds kinda similiar to yours) the bass feels a bit more solid, even at lower volumes or without a subwoofer. I don't know how exactly they do it but I think the production on that track is amazing.

Anyway apart from that I really like myself some uplifting D&B so I dig this :)

There wasn't much more room sonically to have the harmonics of the bass reach up in the 300-500Hz range...which is where you'd get that sort of low-mid that would carry on tiny speakers. I realized this, and made a personal decision to allow more of the reverby/atmos mids to carry it a bit more. It's a learning experience for me, as an engineer vs. a composer. Your production mixes are always spot on and for me, I have spent more time on the composition side than the engineering side of production. D&B is a particularly difficult genre to work if you want to have more going on in a track than wobble/drum riff. I listened to a lot of hospital stuff to get the vibe for how they were separating the spaces in the mix, but in the end, I really wanted more atmos... making it more 'mine' than a dancefloor track. In the end, that probably will make the tune sound 'half' finished, or straddling the borders...not certain of where it wants to go. That said, I am going to continue to work on this sort of stuff. I'm really leaning away from the glitchy/dsp/plugin driven "IDM" sounds, or minimal techno etc sounds.

The only reason I go on this tangent here, Michiel, is that I value your opinion higher than most, and we rarely have time to chat about production with each other much anymore.
