Ok -

So... after my big computer crash - I found out I had to get Traktor "Pro" as I only had version three of the software (and 3 doesn't work on Mac OS 10.6.4)

I just installed Traktor Pro, and updated the driver for my M-Audio Firewire 410 device (what the audio output / input is routed through)

Now... here's the stupid question / situation:

• I selected the M-Audio multi channel for the audio device
• I then selected - "Output Analog 3" and clicked "Mono" (as there's just one input) (for my headphones)
• for "Output Master" (where the 'main audio' goes out to my speakers) -> I have Output Analog 1 and Output Analog 2

...now here's the problem, I get no audio out whatsoever, when I click the "Cue" button, I get no audio on my headphones and if I play a track - no audio through my speakers.

but Traktor shows that there's audio, and when I play a track the M-Audio interface shows the audio signal....

...so I asked Traktor customer support yesterday...

and still no reply - which is odd, as they're usually pretty quick. I don't think there's something wrong with my actual hardware, as when I plug my headphones into the jacks in front of the m-audio piece, I can hear audio...

you need to open your m-audio device software, and select the 3-4 outputs for headphones... you'll see the headphone bus there in either the mixer or outputs section. also might be a good idea to set it to 3-4 stereo in traktor, not mono. i have to do this EVERYTIME I open traktor. for some reason, the 410 just won't keep those settings.

thanks for the recommendation. I'll switch the audio settings for the headphones
(edit) although - I still only get audio through one headphone... but that's just b/c there's only one jack, right? (which is plugged into output 3)

and yea - I am an IDIOT
I just realized... "mute" was clicked on the m-audio device software

what's sad - is that I've been trying to figure this out for DAYS
and it wasn't until just now that I noticed it
