years being around 78-94ish. i'm looking for well produced movies (no troll 2) that primarily occur at night and may be a thriller type thing, with a lot of travelling in cars and going different places. you used to see these movies on repeat a lot, but not anymore... for some reason this style, whatever it is, is probably one of my favourite film styles. i know this is super vague but i think you might know what i mean.

movies like:
-into the night
-the pelican brief
-china moon

etc.

i'm not sure if this is following a pattern, i can give more examples if needed.

Did you take a look at the recommendations on IMDb, Amazon or film review sites?

Handy services if you don't know what film to watch: moviepilot quickratings (http://www.moviepilot.com/quickratings) and filmfinder (http://www.moviepilot.com/filmfinder). Sometimes delivering interesting results from which to go on and find something worthwhile.

Ever seen Scorsese's After Hours (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088680/)? That one came out in 1985. I've not seen it in about 15 years so I can't quite remember if there's much car travel involved (possibly bits of it are merging with my memories of Taxi Driver) but I know that After Hours was all set across one night, and it gives the picture a real nightmarish feel.

Talking of Eddie Murphy, I was going to suggest 48 Hrs (1982), but it's probably not quite the moody thriller bryant had in mind!

Howz about Red Rock West?
