This is my first time seeing Underworld live, waited 15 years for this. Hope it meets my expectations. You could say I traveled 1/2 way around the world to do it, and you would be sort of right.

If anyone wants to meetup, let me know. I'm planning on being in Berlin maybe a day or 2 before and after. I haven't bought a ticket yet, never been to an event of this size in my life, and been out of the electronic music scene for 10ish years now. Thinking standing or premium. Suggestions?

Hi skinny,

Welcome to the forums. I'll be at the show - standing, of course, UP FRONT! :D

You might want to make haste concerning tickets. A few weeks back, my first order (standing tickets as well) got cancelled. Had more luck on the second try, tickets reside warm and comfy at home now.

I'd be happy to meet up (I live in Berlin). Just PM me once you've confirmed your travelling details.

Cheers

froops

i'm living within a mile of the o2 arena, but i'd rather shoot myself in the face than attend this gig.

@froppy seal Sounds good. I had an account on the forums here years ago, but haven't posted in more than 5 years I'm sure so my account was toast.

I was figuring standing was the way to go. I'll buy a ticket online tomorrow. Hopefully I can navigate the site if it's in German hah. I'll let you know when my plans are set. I'm in Prague at the moment.

@Eikman Ya, I'm pretty sure I know what you mean, but this is my only opportunity! You've probably seen Underworld a bunch of times that you have the luxury of being picky.

i'm living within a mile of the o2 arena, but i'd rather shoot myself in the face than attend this gig. That one-mile thing here, too. The arena, of course, is an alien body and repellantly obtrusive. But then, it will be a night with Underworld, whom I love, just around the corner. (Plus, the friend I'll be going with isn't totally antipathetic to PvD. )

Also, I think a shot in the face is beneficial only to the fewest people. ;)

yeah well it's not that i don't want to see underworld...because i do. but there is no way i'm paying any money to see the other two knobheads...

I'll be in Berlin, too.
So, I would be there for a little meet-and-greet before the show. :)

@skinnybackpacker: Same thing for me. It will be my best chance to see UW live, although a pure UW Show would be better, but you have to take what you get ;) - the last gig I tried to attend in Berlin was cancelled. :|

I'm going to be in town this weekend for work, so thought I'll go to the show, but it looks like all the standing tickets are sold out, and I don't fancy sitting down for Underworld :)

Anyone have a spare standing ticket going? PM me please and I can arrange to pick up the ticket.

MEET-UP SUGGESTION

Never been there but this pub seems fair enough:
Hops & Barley (http://hopsandbarley-berlin.de/) (Wühlischstraße 22, 10245 Berlin)
Google Maps (http://maps.google.de/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=de&geocode=&q=Hops+%26+Barley,+Berlin&sll=51.151786,10.415039&sspn=19.86403,39.506836&ie=UTF8&hq=Hops+%26+Barley,&hnear=Berlin&ll=52.509084,13.459754&spn=0.004695,0.009645&z=17&iwloc=A)
qype (http://www.qype.com/place/105848-Hops-Barley-Berlin)

It's close to the Warschauer Straße metro station which is near the O2 World Arena:
Google Maps short walk (http://maps.google.de/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Warschauer+Str.%2FB96a&daddr=W%C3%BChlischstra%C3%9Fe+22-23,+10245+Berlin+%28Hops+%26+Barley%29&hl=de&geocode=FVMwIQMd-TnNAA%3BFW05IQMdC2TNACFbBZNKUr_dbiktNjLWWE6oRzEoj-zUj8xg6Q&mra=ltm&dirflg=w&sll=52.507837,13.455366&sspn=0.004695,0.009645&ie=UTF8&ll=52.508921,13.456278&spn=0.00939,0.01929&t=h&z=16)

If it isn't nice at all we might switch to one of the other dozens of pubs around the corner.

How about 20:30 (that's 8:30 pm for you non-metrics)? We could have a half-litre or two and hop (sic!) over to the UW show.

the whole thing was broadcasted by www.fritz.de (http://www.fritz.de) (sorry only found out a few hours ago, we did search for a broadcast or stream yesterday but didn't find it then)
mp3's floating around the webs now

mp3's floating around the webs nowThere's a page with download links to radio stream rips of most of last night's acts: URTranceZone (http://www.urtrancezone.com/live-sets/we-are-one-dance-festival-berlin-de-2010-09-11-t33350.html).

Now listening to the UW file from RapidShare (http://rapidshare.com/files/418525946/Underworld_-_We_Are_One_-_O2_Arena_Berlin__11.09.2010_-Razorator.mp3). 82.9 MB MP3 @ 128 kB/s, 1:30:35. Quality is quite good, with the occasional radio voice-over.

YouTubes

Downpipe
Overwhelmed microphone, blurry video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9GHPPn4aYY) (must have been taken from close to where we stood)

Born Slippy.NUXX
Decent audio and video, colourful light show (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0EOM4NId70)
Crappy audio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0EOM4NId70)

I believe the whole event was video-taped. Maybe something official will appear from the organisers...

It was a great gig for me and I had a great time, although the setlist was as expected, and the atmosphere was terrible compared to Underworld's non-festival shows.

Was a few metres from the stage, but most of the people in front seemed to standing around chatting for most of UW, not even watching the stage - it looked like they were just there for PvD. They only got slightly animated when they played Born Slippy.

They only got slightly animated when they played Born Slippy.I'm afraid it's true what you say about the atmosphere. The crowd was a joke. Even through the sets of their beloved idols Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk, they never went really wild. From the beginning I had this feeling that the whole festival was more of a staged event than a joyful party. Like it was more important to show off your (trance-y) fan wear and take tons of photos as a proof of attendance.

Strangely, some of the new songs, even quieter ones, were well received, albeit in an attentive mood instead of outward celebration.

In spite of all this, Rick and Karl seemed to have a fun night. Even Rick was rather joyous and sang along on the new songs happily.

Well, however silly the crowd might have been, my friend and I had a great time. Thanks to GoatSucker and skinnybackpacker for a splendid night out. And my best wishes for a speedy recovery to Bootleg who wasn't able to attend the gig.

Had a great time. Glad I went for sure.

I was a little concerned that this wouldn't be the best venue to see Underworld live, and unfortunately I was right. Hope to see them for their own show, I'm sure the atmosphere will be better.

As for the new tracks, I wasn't really feeling them that much personally, gave me a little time to cool down at least. Crowd didn't really seem to be getting much of anything at all, old or new. Was crushed that there was no Pearl's Girl or Jumbo.

Thought it was really cool how Karl especially seemed to be enjoying himself.

Excellent to meet froopy_seal +1 and GoatSucker. Good times.

The broadcast audio is great - I hope one of the gigs I see gets this treatment.

Although it has one of the world's worst cutaways to cheesy music & an anncr for about a minute during TMO. Argh. You get what you pay for I guess... I'm still in the black.
