The iTunes US tracks (at the very least) seem to be mislabeled - clicked on the Michael Woods remix and heard the original, etc.

Hm, seems to be just the Michael Woods remix that is the wrong track on there.

The same track mix-up is on the US Juno store as well.

Comment about lack of b-sides.

I remember the olden' days when a single had a fixed release date (which was announced a few weeks before) and then on Monday I would excitedly go into a shop and buy the CD/Vinyl single with one or two b-sides.....without the fear that there was a version/b-side someone had that I did not...ahhhh......bliss.......

cue to the future...2010....£15 ebay promo CD single which probably has most of the versions....hours on-line trawling though forums/news to try to find all versions/b-sides...release date somewhat random....searching amazon/i-tunes for clips of the tunes or accidently released tunes...wondering what countries will be getting which bonus version and how I will be able to purchase them....suddenly reading news/forum post to discover a version on youtube that everyone knew about but not me.....getting lost in the world of FLAC/mp3/mp4/bit rate/WAV...not knowing about a tweet or facebook update that gave some information away....

(Edit Sept 1st - or suddenly realising the album has been released early on itunes jp and wondering if i should buy it so I can hear it now (if thats possible), or wait for the delux version to arrive in a few weeks (only bought this because the forum tickets/bundle was released before details of the different formats) or to wait for the super delux version (which i think i ordered) or maybe i should buy the japan cd version now as that will probably arrive before the UK release and will have to buy at some point anyway because of the bonus track.)

moan over.

maybe the tactic is to put versions of the song out there, generate some buzz and then if there is enough buzz, put a physical release out. it seems that for this release the band have decided to put promo's out for a couple of months before barking to get DJs to generate a buzz (i.e. Karls diary yesterday thanking DJs).

can't wait for the new record :) and the forum gig!!!!

+1 on your moan.

i just hate to miss out and i'm willing to spend the cash, it's just such hard work to keep up.

and if i download a flac and then convert it to an MP3 and then trash the flac will i be struck down by lightning?

and what will happen if i don't buy the deluxe version of the new album? i for one am not willing to find out.

there should be an 'underworld nerd mailing list' where all i have to do is give my credit card number and everything they release arrives either in my inbox or my mailbox.

back on topic—looking forward to this release.

+1 on the moan here too. It's an incredibly frustrating job trying to buy recent underworld releases, at the moment I'm dithering about spending about 12 quid to get a CD promo of ALAF, because I have no idea if that's my only chance of getting some or all of those mixes in physical form (or at all). If I do pay £12 for a CD single on ebay (compared to £2.99 HMV price if it does come out), not one penny of that £12 will get to the band, which I find morally objectionable.

I'd give UW my credit card number right now, if they'd simply promise to mail me a CD of stuff me now and then. Doesn't have to be before the general release, doesn't have to be pretty, I just want to buy the stuff. Riverrun, What dog mix, the Barking instrumentals, Bungalow with stairs album, bit of rope for web, 02020202, the whole lot. I even don't care if it's £25 a disc, just send me one every time you've got over an hour of stuff that's out there but physically unobtainable, and I'd be a very happy man.

Seriously... I have money, you have tunes. Why is it so difficult to swap one for the other?

I totally agree. Hundreds or thousends of fans would buy physical singles if they would be released. I can 't understand the record companies. I think they don't want to earn money. If UNKLE can release a limited run of their new single (just 500 copies) then UW simply would.

Mmm, one of the reasons I bought a lot of the Beaucoup Fish and Hundred Days Off singles was because I liked having the collection together. I'm not paying a frankly extortionate amount of money to have the opportunity to download other people's remixes of UW.

Juno now lists a 5-track CD single of ALAF with the tracklisting of the 5-track promo. Release date is october 13. I wonder if this will be an official CD single or just the promo, like the Scribble 12" promo on that site.

I want a damn CD single!!!! We desereve it!

The Barking era is horrible, just one album and that's all, no singles...

Well, i have the two cd promos of these singles :-) ! But there´s no vinyl !!! On the other eras the vinyl promos had lots of versions that we could'nt get on the cd singles. (Beaucoup Fish and OHDO) and on the riverrrun mixes we had only vinyl not cds. Things have really turn out bad when we can't get a vinyl with mixes :--(
