Caught a Halloween night showing of Saw 2 and it was one of those rare sequels that still had lots of new things to offer.....not a retread but a true continuation of things that made sense and had lots of twists and surprises that impacted the series as a whole and paves the way for horror sequels to come!
Well done.:cool::cool::cool:

yeah saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it - its not as good as the original but i liked the way they tried to develop it rather than just retreading the first film
not as scary as the first film mind but probably more gory
worth catching anyway :)

2 thumbs up here. Donnie Wahlberg started by acting atrociously and either a) improved slightly or b) got less noticable towards the end of the film. No-one was that great to be honest, apart from maybe the dude who got minced at the start. I agree with Matt, not as scary but definitely more gory/unpleasant. A couple of scenes had me close to heaving.
Good ending too. And far fewer gaping plot-holes than the first film. If you enjoyed the first one at all, this is definitely recommended.

I really want to see this, but just haven't got around to it yet. For some reason, I totally loved the first one. I think it was partially due to the music.

I didn't think that the first one had plot holes in it. Could you point a few out?

Feeling you on the music. Not the sort of stuff I'd usually listen to but it really fitted the mood of the film. Particularly the short clip of the fat guy going spastic in the barbed wire.

As for plot holes, the whole thing with Zimm was a bit odd, chronologically anyway. I may be wrong here, but of the photos that Leigh Whannell's character finds in the cistern, the one of Zimm in the window of Cary Elwes' house was taken by Danny Glover's cop, and couldn't have been taken very long ago, so how the hell did Jigsaw get it in with all the other pics?
Wow I didn't even realise this film had been made yet! I'm glad that it sounds like the sequel was handled well. I really liked the first movie and was worried they would ruin the second.
And I love Donnie Wahlberg!:)

ouch.
musn't... ruin....
aah!
donnie wahlberg was pretty much the worst actor there.
the movie was dumb as a stone, spare/bad dialogue, and merely a tool to display varying degrees of sadism.
damn, did i enjoy myself.
he broke a couple rules in this one (pregnant woman? what did the baby do), but i could deal with it because tobin bell is the best thing about the film.
though his "i have cancer ha ha" thing got a bit old.

I don't see how anybody could sit through either of these movies. I can hardly watch the commercial with out getting majorly creeped out and kind of depressed. Wierd.
Diff'rent strokes I guess.
