Transition to Rez (7)
Rez (8)
Cowgirl (9)

Transition to Cherry Pie (11)
Cherry Pie (12)
Rowla outro (13)

Rowla (Disc 2 - track 1)
Confusion the waitress (2)
Pearls Girl (3)
Born Slippy original (4)
Born Slippy.nuxx (5)

Hi, guy. You probably want to check out RTSR (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/rtsrboardoftrade/), which is where you find Underworld Live recordings.

^^ Also, you shouldn't have paid for it. ;) I too fell for a scam like that once. :(

Well, as far as bootlegs go, at least it's a rare bootleg. :)

soulseek says it's not rare.

I remember seeing it onsale at record fairs. cant find it on discogs but here's the last.fm pages:
http://www.last.fm/music/Underworld/European+Club+Gig+Germany+1996+%28disc+1%29
http://www.last.fm/music/Underworld/European+Club+Gig+Germany+1996+%28disc+2%29

They stuck some other tracks on the end of disc 2.. i think Jamscraper may have been one. Even as a bootleg i'd say its quite rare. But it was recorded 3% too fast and there are pops and clicks and sometimes channel dropouts. The version on RTSR is cleaned up and speed corrected.

Its never sounded so good.

Just popped in to say the version of Born Slippy (not NUXX, the instrumental one) is one of my favorite UW performances ever. Sooo incredibly epic; it just builds and builds forever. Wish they had more tracks like it. I'm glad they decided to use it on Bootleg Babies...it really is incredible (and much different than the studio version)

Does anyone have any information on this show? I just dug it up from my iTunes backup and listened to it for the first time in about 6 years and it still holds up as the best electronic improv I've ever heard, from Underworld especially. Sounds like a show of a lifetime! I don't even know the date of it. All I've ever heard is, 1996 Germany.

We know Underworld played in Hamburg on 20th July 1996, so it is likely that they played live somewhere else (or possibly the same venue) around the same time.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it is a show of a lifetime, because it is a typical 1996 set. However it is one of longest and cleanest recordings of a gig we have from that time. We have a whole bunch of audience recordings with similar sounding improvs and setlists. There is also another soundboard from Quart Festival, Norway with an awesome rendition of Air Towel!

It's generally accepted that it's from Munich, but unknown venue and date. Though probably late July, like Mike says.

that sounds so awesome. german beer, german bud, underworld, 1996, late july. sounds like bliss...

I have a German Tour Poster from 1996 (only two dates)

Underworld live feat. Darren Price

Cologne "Move Club" July 19th
Hamburg "Markthalle" July 20th

We already know the Hamburg Gig...

Maybe the European Club Gig is from the "Move Club" ... ? :-)

I could be convinced that it's from Cologne. :)

Featuring Price? Does that mean he was playing before/after? Or was he there in emerson's stead or something? I'm not well versed on the price/UW relationship through pre-2005.

Pricey would DJ before/after (and between?) Underworld sets.

I've seen a picture of Pricey with Underworld at Tribal Gathering Munich 94, so he's been affiliated with them for most of their existence.

No... :)

Yep - Pricey dj'ing, UW would just mix seamlessly in, play half their set, mix out to more DP, mix back in for the second half, mix out at the end. Hours of continuous techno. Amazing...

Also evidenced by his remixing duties...

I was going through the gigography recently, and came to that same conclusion...

Do you have any particular evidence that it's from Cologne? I mean besides the poster? The poster is good info, and I'd never seen it before. But I'm just wondering if anyone has any additional info that could corroborate that this is from Cologne, and not Munich?

Not actually conclusive evidence (and I came to this conclusion (more of an deduction, really) before seeing that poster, btw).

TheBang

Well, let me ask this then. How did you know about the Cologne date before the poster?

From the gigography....

(edited to say: that's not correct. I'm not sure, but I had it labeled as Munich on July 19th, the day before Hamburg. I do not remember where I saw that listed).
