hello there dirty people!
i've been crap at keeping up to date with underworld lately. however, on a random wiki binge, i noticed this on the dubnobass page:
"A prototype of the album surfaced on October 3, 2008, on Underworld's official messageboard (http://www.darktrain.org/wiki/Messageboard), which featured a different running order, some extended mixes and three previously unreleased songs: "Big Meat Show", "Organ" and "Can You Feel Me", an outtake from previous sessions. "Organ" has since been featured on Underworld's MySpace (http://www.darktrain.org/wiki/MySpace) page."

a) WHAT?
b) WHAT???
c) where's this prototype, how can i hear it, and where can i hear "organ"?

thanks, you're all legends.

Ha ha.

Your account has been approved, btw. ;)

Edit: Side note, I just looked at the Wikipedia page for dubno, and suddenly the song mixing choices and running order for the album all make sense.

you mean how it's layed out over 2lps?
yeah, it works better on the vinyl. it doesn't seem to me to be a natural cd-album.
well anyway, cowgirl was definitely written to be played loud in a club....

We had this discussion when the "dubno DAT" appeared last year, but i still find it a very odd listen. granted, it's a demo and not necessarily the preferred track order or even track selection. But since dubnobasswithmyheadman has become such a sacred cow of sorts, and to me it sounds so intentional and so original, it's a little shocking to hear some of the carry-over synth-funk of UW mk i on the early version. I guess it's no surprise that those songs fell by the wayside.

As for 2 Lps vs the CD - yes, i can def. see the merit of splitting it up so. But again, being accustomed to the CD running order, it all seemed to flow just fine for me. :)

So is this still available anywhere? I'd love a listen if anybody is kind enough to oblige...
