I have done a few mixes using garageband, what I need to do is split the file exported from GB into tracks, making sure the transition is seemless when I burn it on to cd.
Any suggestions?
I'm using a powerbook g4.
Freeware would be nice, I quite like the way Amadeus II works.
edit: on an unrelated note, is there a way to change my username on here?

NERO does dat... it lets u look at the wave file and choose wer to split it into tracks by placing markers. u can even zoom in and out of the wave file... once ur done placing markers down it will cut the file into those pieces. after dat make sure u hit the 'do not insert silence between tracks' (or something like dat) button and instant seamless mix cd.
OR u can use a program like WAVELAB and just cut the wave into pieces der... dat's wat i would do. just make sure dat watever program u use wont insert any silences between the tracks once ur done and ready to burn... or it will surely suck.

Is Nero available for Mac, which version do you use for splitting the track?
Also, Wavelab is a little pricey for my needs.
Thanks for the reply.

found some better instructions for audacity:
The easiest way is to uncompress your mp3 to a WAV, then split the WAV into the different tracks, then burn the tracks as an audio CD in Disk at once mode (i.e. "without gaps").
* To split your file, use an audio editor. Audacity is an open source (and thus free in the true sense) application that can read your mp3. Here are really stepwise instructions
(1) Start Audacity
(2) Project - Import Audio, locate your mp3. Audacity will open it.
(3) If you want to end up REALLY gaples, the next is very important: View - Set selection format - cdda min:sec: frames. This will make sure that your selections "snap" precisely to CD frame bounderies. Otherwise, a small audible click may still result.
(4) Highlight your first track, press Ctrl+X (or select Edit-Cut) to cut the selection to the clipboard.
(5) File - New; Edit - Paste will paste your selection into a new file ("project"). yes, this works just like copy-paste in a word processor.
(6) File - Export as wav, name this file for example track01
(7) Repeat (4) to (6) for all tracks
Now burn the tracks using CDBurner XP Pro or any other burning software of your liking as an Audio CD.
I'll give that a go.
Does anyone know if I can change my username? Fancy a change.

Finally cracked it, just in case anyone is interested.
Proper instructions here:

Audacity is open source and this works like a charm.
