i don't think you have to pay to develop? i didn't pay and got the sdk and played around... I think you *might* have to pay to get the stuff up on the store?

In order to physically test and deploy ON an iphone, I have to pay crapple $99. $299 if I want to distrubute it to my team. And if I want to sell it, I HAVE to do it through their storefront and give them 30% of my revenue.

The kicker is: if a customer returns the application, you have to refund them - for a 100%. Oh, and of course you have to pay the full refund, too, if apple decides to remove your application from their store...

Well the 30% distribution is an odd gripe because when Apple set this pricing model most developers were cheering. Other carriers and phone companies have worse pricing structures and it generally beats most mark-ups by physical stores, and likely gets close to having the infrastructure to host your own app portal.

When did crapple become a phone company/carrier? We are talking about is a computer platform. They are charging me to program on my own computer. they are charging me to deploy to my network of computers. . .
That is if we were to buy crapple.
And smac-ers complain about Gates.
