Well, I'm pretty sure that Karl's two daughters came up with the title "You Do Scribble". So, yeah, he has kids.

Yer at the Roundhouse 4 gig, there seemed to be some youngsters grooving at the side of the stage. Must keep it in the family.

Underworld Interview :: Interview with Karl Hyde (http://www.urb.com/features/1598/UnderworldInterview.php) - URB
URB: In concert, you always have a video camera with which you project the audience onto the stage. What happens with that video? Do you save it? I heard you’re having a contest where fans can submit clips that could be played in their cities.
KH: We’re still talking about how it. I didn’t know that information was out. So, well done! I like being pushed. Are you living in my garden shed? Yes, we’re planning on using fan-made videos during the show. We’ve been putting some backstage footage online as well, everything from audience shots to some obscure stuff, which we wonder about putting out. Occasionally, you get an exhibitionist, so you have to cut away. Unless it’s an exhibitionist the audience wants to see more of.

Mike: ‘To Heal’. Is that a song that you guys play live?
Karl: Which track?
‘To Heal’, it was on the umm…
Karl: Oh ‘To Heal!’ Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike: Yeah it was on the Sunshine soundtrack.
Karl: Y’know we haven’t played that one live, we could, we certainly could, we certainly could but we haven’t. I don’t know why really…

Clubplanet Interviews Underworld (http://www.clubplanet.com/Articles/3829/Clubplanet-Interviews-Underworld) - Clubplanet
Clubplanet: Do you guys think you’ll be in the East Coast anytime soon?
Karl Hyde: There’s talk about coming back to the East Coast, but we want to come back to the US next year with a bigger tour. A more complete tour across America. By bus, because that’s the way to tour America, where you can get off on truck stops, and see deserts and see the countryside. If we don’t come back to the East Coast this year, then it’ll be because we’re planning a bigger tour there next year.

Hmm talk of To Heal getting into the live set perhaps... and even more talk of 8Ball!!!!!
8 BALL!!!!
A recording of that would be like Gold dust!
FAZER interview:
"Mike: Yeah. I’ve always liked ‘8 Ball’ a lot as well. The first time I heard that was another Danny Boyle movie.
Karl: Yeah, ‘8 Ball’ is something that we want to do live even and we haven’t been able to do it in time to, for us to come out again on this tour, but, that’s something that is being worked up so that we can, we can play it again. In fact, y’know that we’ve never even ever played that live."

I certainly wouldn't mind returning to New York once more to see underworld next year. Especially if they're gonna play 8-Ball :)

The Urb interview specifically mentions NYC!
URB: So, why aren’t you coming to NY?
KH: Because there’s plans to return to the East Coast later. I’m not supposed to say that. But you can’t tour the states and not play New York. It would be a bit odd.
I'm so happy!

Underworld Interview: Extending the Creative Conversation (http://www.metrowize.com/underworld-interview-las-vegas) - Metrowize
MW: Anyone, new or old on the scene who you’d like to collaborate with?
KH: Santigold opened for us the other day in Italy; we really dug what was happening on stage there
Interview: Karl Hyde of Underworld (http://thescenestar.typepad.com/ss/2009/08/interview-karl-hyde-of-underworld.html) - The Scenestar
SS: It seems like you’ve really honed in on that concept being a stabilizer of the band. Is this something that has existed since day one?
Karl Hyde: I think a lot of it comes from Rick’s Welshness. It’s a very Celtic thing too I suppose. We tried the whole ego-trip thing in the ’80s, trying to be rockstars, where the frontman thought he was amazing and behaved like he was some kind of superstar, and it just didn’t work. But when Rick reinvented the band in the ’90s, we became part of DJ culture before there were superstar DJs. It was about the music, and egos couldn’t get in the way. And I think if you put those two things together, Rick’s Celtic mentality with a scene that grew out of a place for egos, that became the roots of Underworld.
Underworld On The Edge (http://www.soundproofmagazine.com/United_Kingdom/Features/Underworld_On_The_Edge.html) - Soundproof
"I think if you'd have asked me as a teenager what would be my wildest, wildest fantasy of how things might turn out, I don't think it would have come close to what we're feeling about where we're at. Rick and I have been working together for 30 years . . . that's mental! That's really mad, isn't it?"

The new album will be out in 2010 and we're more excited about it than anything we've done for years. its got a real dance floor energy about it so hopefully you'll be hearing a lot of us in ibiza next summer
Sounds interesting, although I liked OWB, didn't really have many clubby songs for the Ibiza mass.

Well, this is excellent news. A flat-out statement about a new album, nothing about "an album if you want to call it an album" or the similar stuff Karl's been going on about recently. We know for sure now that it's coming out in 2010 and it's dancefloor-oriented. Thanks!
