...but what is "Rez" supposed to mean ?

Also an FAQ on the forum could be god.
If there's already one, forgive me, I'm a newbie, I haven't seen it yet...

does it have to mean anything?

Why is Rez?

there used to a faq kind of thing before I think. Not sure what happened to all that. Probably residing in some dusty and forgotten folder of Yannick's harddrive.

Rez is a strange name (and a good track also) and I wonder what made them choose that name..

I always thought it implies 'resonate/resonator' , especially given the sound of the track

I always thought that it refered to the resonance of the synth they used to get the main synth sound. When you look at a synth, usually the Resonance nob or fader is simply marked "RES" and it wouldnt be too far to think that they just put a Z at the end of it to make it "REZ"

Thats just my theory

whats this:

A FAQ describing how to properly post on the forum.
If I recall correctly, there's a tab on the main Darktrain page that says "Underworld Confusion Center", which sounded like a guide for Dirts like me who haven't been fans since Karl was a zygote. Unfortunately, it doesn't link to anything.

Rez is french for lady. Maybe the same reason Cowgirl is named such.

Dude, I'm french, and I can tell you that there isn't such a word in that language. The only thing which exists is "rez-de-chaussée", what means "ground level" (there is also "rez-de-jardin" but that is less used). The word "rez", alone, doesn't exist.
The most used word for lady would be "Dame".

About "Born Slippy" I read on wikipedia that that title came from the name of a night club or something like that. (".NUXX" coming from an informatic bug which added that suffix to all their working files).

I laughed at my brain fail :
"The name Born Slippy was taken from the name of a greyhound that ran at Romford Dog Racing Track"

How did that fade into "a night club" in my mind ? o_0

I read once that Pearl's Girl and Sappys Curry are also greyhound dog names.

yes, if you go greyhound racing stupid names are attributed to dogs, Underworld got those two plus Born Slippy from a couple of meetings that they attended at Romford Dog Track... so legend has it, I blame Darren Emerson, personally...
