Metope's "Kobol" is only the second album release by a solo artist on Areal records (http://www.areal-records.com/) (after the spectacular Ada album, which is a classic already), but god lord - it is banging!!

anyone familiar with the Areal sound knows what to expect: twisted techno that is constantly evolving throughout a track and not afraid to completely change the direction from one moment to the other. nonetheless, there is no doubt that it keeps its dancefloor capabilities.
the whole album has a rather glooming feeling to it, especially the first part is really straightforward, while the second half is a bit more accessible and playful, build around a whole lot of analog sounds. if Kompakt is the good soul of the Cologne Sound then Areal would be its evil twin. :)

i think this could end in my top 3 this year, so i highly recommend it to everyone.

i think the releasedate is within the next few weeks. i suppose it will also be available on the Kompakt mp3 (http://www.kompakt-mp3.net) Shop
